Question Best radar detectors?

What is the best radar detector on the market today? I've read all the reviews that narrow the field to Bel RX65, V1, and the Escort 8500 X50.... But there seems to be little difference between the three other than customer preference. Any truth to any of this?

hahhaa, again? i think if anything the v1 is escort are the two closest one, the bel is at the bottom.

and between v1 and 8500? my friend did the test already, the v1 hands down.

just this past weekend i decided a cop caming fast from behind when it was at least over a mile to two away. i couldn't even see him as a dot in my rear view mirror and the v1 beeped like crazy already

How well does it do with lasers if anything? Have you experienced this?

it's very very sensitive (on my v1). though keep in mind, most of teh cops here in cali they are still using the ka band, so laser is very rare. but the problem is actually from a lot of cars nowadays with those led taillights and those entertainment systems in their cars. i forgot the model but a certain model suv, when they brake in front of you they can actually set off your v1. i have read about that on another forum.

and if you wanna try, get a remote control at home and point it to the v1 from a distance and shoot, it will go off right the way. my friend tried it already.

so i am pretty sure it's sensitve, just not sure how useful it is (since we don't have cops here using that), plus with all the "false" alarms around

Having a laser detector is pointless. By the time the detector picks it up, you're already busted. It's more of an indicator that you're getting busted if anything.

Ok, what about the laser jammers or counter measures... Are any of these effective?

I've heard positive things, besides being illegal

Depends on the state you live in In Mass they aren;t illegal. Jamming radar is illegal but defusing laser is not illegal. Personally i dont have a detecter but I sell them and some people swear by them.

Now K40 just released their new Blutooth Calibre Remote radar and it is really cool. No wires for the install just mount the radar sensors and it talks to the brain under the dash. it also comes with a little remote you can use to change settings and it has a voice command to tell you where the radar is coming from.

Isn't it like $1700 for the Calibre bluetooth setup?
