The LS would retain its value longer.

As for what car I would buy? I am still young and fit the demographics of a GS moreso than an LS, but the LS is such a damned good vehicle I would have to go with it! (I would go with the LS430)

 

Pick the GS. The car is so much fun to drive The LS is a great car, but feels like a boat.

 

The 06 GS has some new gadgets & looks sleeker & sportier, whereas the LS430 is more luxurious, roomier & more comfortable in the back.
For me, I would buy neither, ask again when the GS460 & new LS460 comes out for 2007.

right now it's hard, but i might stil choose the ls430 since i don't care much about the gs look so far

i think it would be better comparison on the gs460 and ls460 next yr

 

Unless the facelift for the GS460 is significant, I don't see how it's gonna fare better in your mind in comparison with the LS460, which will be all-new and supposedly sharper looking as well.

I voted for the LS430 BTW.

 

They probably will just upgrade the GS engine to GS460, I don't think they will give the GS a facelift at all only after 1 1/2 years . . .

 

yeah i don't expect anything but engine change as well. i said it's going to be a better comparison coz' you never know how they will "mess" with the ls460 styling could be worse you never know. the gs430 now has a lot more gadgets and nice features that i think the current ls430 is missing. i am sure those will be in the ls460 next yr, so that's why i think it will be a better comparison

 

Guys, you've hijacked the thread. The question refers to the specific models (and would suggest purchase of one or the other is contemplated).

I PREFER the driving experience of the GS but even with the new LS due in a year or so, I think your residuals at 5 years will show the LS with greater retention of value.

 

Tough call. Although I love my GS, the LS is one fine vehicle. Very roomy and comfortable. There's a reason it's the flagship of Lexus.

That being said, the GS was more my style. I preferred something sportier at this point in my life. But I am definitely interested in the upcoming LS. When I look at a new car in three years, I have a feeling the LS will definitely be on my short list.

 

Hands down the "05 LS then I would start modding her out so it doesn't feel old. The new GS is nice but I have a special place in my heart for the "04 or '05 LS.

Just my 2 cents.

 

I vote GS. Why? I need a sportier feeling from the GS, I don't want all the space the LS provides yet and the GS has all the new Lexus tech. Just imagine the next LS will trump the GS with new tech!!
