Most people have a love or hate for the new grills.
Personally I like Audi's but not VW's.
The VW one is too.... fish looking. Wide mouthed, non-agressive.
Audi has sharpened those lines and makes it much more agressive. The cars look angry.
Your thoughts?

I like the new grills, but only on certain models. It doesnt come off to well on all models. For example, I personally like the big mouth Audi A6 grill, and A3 grill, but hate the big mouth Audi A4 and A8 W12 grill. I also like the VW Passat and Golf grill, but hate the Jetta grill. The rest of the car has to look outstanding for the grill to work. It does draw attention and definitely makes the companies more well known and maybe more respected by non enthusiasts(something I think Audi needs right now).

It's not just the grill but the whole front end. I'd like to think that I know cars pretty well, but at a quick glance I can't tell the diff from the A3 all the way up to the A8 without taking more than a few seconds to look at it and with the help of something other than just a frontal view. The look itself is OK (A6 looks best I think) but just a bit too much family resemblance.

Yeah, I like on certain models, not all. I DO LOVE the fact it speaks Audi, well it did. But I cannot for the life of me UNDERSTAND why parent company VW would take THE SAME FACE AND GRILL!?!?!?!

Why on earth would they do that???

Simple. If VW is trying to go upmarket, who else to imitate first but big brother who is aleady there?

The danger, though, is that VW will start to get some of Audi's sales and you will have Peter robbing Paul.

I also like the new Audi grill but not on a VW. The Audi grill is a bold styliing statement. Yes it says look at me but why not. The cars have an understated look. Nice but understated. The grill is needed to draw some attention.

I dislike the grill on the Audi, even worse now that the new VW's have a similar looking one. BTW, what was VW thinking with styling the new cars to look like the Corolla...?

What matters on a car not the grille but what is BEHIND that grille......engine, brakes, suspension, steering, safety, space efficiency, engineering, quality control. etc.......

I don't like them on all the Audi sedans, but with the next Audi TT, that grille matches quite well with the shape of that Audi.
