Default Question for those of you who store your car in the winter

This may sound like a silly question, but my battery seems to be weak or somehow it gets easily discharged.

I changed the battery recently (2 months ago), but when I don't start the car for more than 2 - 3 weeks the battery gets COMPLETELY drained.

I know there are quite a few of you who let your car(s) hibernate during the winter (especially those in COLD nasty weather). What do you do to preserve the battery? Do you disconnect it until Spring? Does anyone use a trickle charger (someone recommended that to me). If you went that route, any good recommendation on a trickle charger?

I’m not sure what’s going on with my GS, but it drains out the battery completely after just 2 - 3 weeks of no activity [it may be my alarm (pager)].

What would you recommend I do? What do you guys do when you plan to store your car for a long period of time?

Thanks.

There are battery preservers that you can use to preserve lead acid batteries during storage.
I' ve never used one though, so I don't know which trickle charger to recommend

Default Winter Storage

I use a trickle charger for my car and motorcycle. I don't store the GS completely though like I do my bike...I try to get it out of the garage once a week in the winter weather/road conditions permitting (meaning no rain/sleet/snow or salt)

Cadd after 2 or 3 weeks with out starting your car. you defenetly going to need a jump or booster is normal it happend to me with the GS seatting all time in the garage with out starting . On the alarm the power that requires is like low very low power if you want give me call we can install a back up battery for the alarm and read your manual there is things in there that you can do to program your car to start everyday with out you actually hitting the remote.

Angel, I feel better.....at least I'm not the only one having this issue. Nah, I'll pass on putting the car on a timer to start on a daily basis. The last thing I want is for some smuck to think that I left the car running and have my windows bashed in from him thinking that it's an easy job to get a joyride.

Anyone else have experience with a trickle charger? I guess that's my solution.
