Too bad there isn't a Lexus for every category.:p

EDIT: Why is there no RX330 even listed? :thumbdn:

RX330 listed under the category of "SUV under $35k ". . .

Ahh my bad...must have been blind when viewing that page. :egads:

This is a terrible survey! First off the RX base price is $36,675 for the FWD with no options. How does it get in the under $35K category?

Next, the M45 is in the under $45K category.

There are tons of other mixups (like the XC90 being in the category below the MDX)

How can you get realistic results when your categories are pooched?

(XeroK00L, I'm not knocking you on this, just Edmunds or Consumers Most Wanted).

Yuuup...I was looking for the RX in the $45K category and didn't find it and that's why I was first complaining about the absence of the RX. :D (whew thanks for making me look less stupid)

Ooouch.... now that was stupid.:egads: Guess I just wasn't paying attention when I posted this thread LOL.

No, not your fault - I would have thought them a reputable source. Of course now their evaluation of the new GS has no credibility either :)

What you guys put for an answer to this question :uh:

OK, now you should vote for the Most Significant Vehicle of the Year.
Choose a groundbreaking design that changes the rules of a given segment,
creates a brand-new niche or redefines an automaker's image. And remember,
it must be 2005 model.

Now we have to wait a month for the results

not as a personal preference, but i smell the ridgeline <spell?> coming up for that one

So the result is out

And Toyota didn't do exactly well... Only the xB and the Tacoma came out ahead. The LS430 got beaten by the A8, the 7-Series and even the RL.

It's only those that vote with their wallets that matters ;)

I do agree with some of their results though, like the Mazda 3, G35 coupe , Porsche's, corvette, & S2000

In the over 45k sedan category, there were 2 Lexus cars.. the LS and the GS. The winning Audi got 17% of the votes, while the 4th place LS got 16%, and the GS got 9%. Having 2 Lex competing against each other probably hurt them... if there was no GS and all of those votes went to the LS, then the LS430 would have won with a whopping 25% of the votes

just something to think about

Very good point. It's bad categorization on Edmunds' part. The market is clearly not divided by this near-meaningless $45k mark, not to mention the base GS actually starts below $45k.:egads:

The LS should've won, I concur.:D

TwiBlueG35 May 17, 2005 05:26 PM

When I clicked on it, a gray color page came out and I can't vote.

Gojirra99 May 17, 2005 05:31 PM

It's too late ;)

LexFather May 17, 2005 05:53 PM

Well the BUYERS are voting with their wallets.......
