Not sure how I feel about the grilles of either but I think it's a pretty decent evolution rather than a huge jump on design. Now about the engines...

Those pics are rather old. And the new Subaru fascia is the result of the Alfa stylist they hired some time back. It's kinda grown on me.

Yes.....Subaru stylists could do a LOT worse than Alfas for inspiration. Most Alfas are beautiful cars......and, not being a fan of Italian cars in general, I don't say that lightly. I have really enjoyed looking at every Alfa I have seen...except maybe for the 164.

Now.......Alfa RELIABILITY.............? Well,........................ Subaru will blow them away on that.

The Soob definately has some Alfa in the nose; I'm not feeling it.

The EVO looks alright.

For both cars I do not see it as an improvement.

I am not really feeling the newEVO but i like the new STi and i think that's the new subaru styling trend that they are going with.

by the way, anyone read the article about EVOVIIIFQ400? 0-60 in 3.5s and costs around 85K and we wont have it in US land. that car will smoke F430.

Question

I don't know about the new EVO. IMO, I think the EVO might not continue after EVO 8. Its rally version is doing poorly, and I think Mitsu will probably use Colt as a rally car in the future.

Plus Mitsu USA probably won't do much about the new EVO anyways. Recently there are info that Outlander Turbo (Airtrek basically) will make its way to Europe, but Mitsu USA has no plans for introducing that here. Even with the nice example that EVO set, I dont' think Mitsu USA will do anything good anymore

I have to agree with Globe, unfortunately. Subaru and Mitsu will probably have to replace their traditional sedans with smaller cars in rally in the future to compete with the smaller European cars.

Not to mention, rule changes mean Subaru will not be allowed to use boxers in rally, which means there won't be much connection at all to the road cars. Very sad, very disturbing times.
