Then I am stupid, quit complaining. You think you are entitled to a perfect criminal justice system, it could be much worse. People have been saying the America has been going to hell forever, sorry but that is not true. I can't believe you are making judgements of the entire system based on a single case.

this wing deal is ridiculous, no matter how grotesque the EVO wing is, the court made a poor ruling. Maybe he can file some sort of appeal?

There is a solution to this. The owner of the car needs to call corporate office and damand to have them reinburse him for a ticket he paid for a violation he is not at fault for. Furthermore, if Mitsu continues putting these wings on their cars, they are going to have to make an all out effort to educate law enforcement in every state the car is sold in. This is just horrible for any EVO owner to have to deal with. He should not have to contact any lawyers or go through a drawn out appeal process. I'm pretty sure Mitsu Corp will step up an pay the $350 fine if he chooses to do so...

ALSO, LET'S STAY ON TOPIC PLEASE

Not many people on the road at 6 AM on Sunday....They're probably just wasting their time, unless they're looking for people with hangovers.

Look, I'm sure we all feel sorry for this guy but Mitsubishi shouldn't have to cough up money for a ticket if the state approves the design of a specific car for sale and then turns around and slaps the owner for it. That is not the company's fault.....and, besides, Mitsubishi is saddled right now with MANY problems that ARE their fault....all kinds of things from problems at their plants to auto defects to lousy marketing to lawsuits to corrupt management, and everything in between.

I know I have not had anyone else on this thread agree (at least publically) with my earlier post about maybe more to this ticket than meets the eye, but it still looks strange to me. It is bizarre that someone would get a ticket JUST for having a factory wing on his car...especially if the car was delivered that way.

But if the guy is indeed not guilty of anything else, I think this can be overturned on appeal. The state might also relent under pressure from local TV and media publicity.

This is bigger than Mitsubishi. Every car sold in the USA has to be approved. Period. To be sold with the OEM wing means our government said it is legal to have. Otherwise it's Gray market.
Now we have a local government trying to OVERRULE the Federal government.

This is a PATHETIC example of tax-money being wasted and a citizen being HARRASSED. He should SUE. They are wasting his time over something that is 100% LEGAL!

ImportFan this country has flaws like every other country. I can ask why it costs in some countries 10k for a license?

Well, if he does fights the ticket ( or appeals it ), he'll already be IN court to start with....and before a judge where he can tell his story. If he does sue, all he will be then doing is transfering the case from one judge to another ...and possibly a jury.

Given nothing else in the case, I think that having the local news make an issue of this will shame the state into droppng the charges.

Well, with 28,000 posts between the two of you, I'd say neither one of you is at a loss for words.

I would pull the wing, then wreck the car at "interstate" speeds. Then prove as Mitsu. claims that the spoiler is functional. It is then the state that is liable for forcefully by law putting your and other lives in danger, by removing OEM saftey equipment approved by the US government.

I'm sure this is worth millions of dollars.

If they want to be ridiculous then let them, and show them how ridiculous they are.
