A 4.3L V8 of F430 produces 490hp, a 3.2L I6 of M3 produces 333hp, a 2.2L I4 of S2000 produces 240hp. All of them are my all time favorite engines, because they sound...high tech. The 3.5L V6 of the upcoming IS350 is also very impressive, and the Nissan's 3.5L V6 isn't bad also. But Z06's? It sounds too monstrous to me, should be a truck engine. The base Corvette should be enough for my taste.
Also, you worry about weight? The Z06 is less than the F430, M3, IS350, and 350Z. The S2000 is obviously lighter, but something weighing as little as the Z06 and having a mountain of torque 470 lb ft high, and 505hp on the top end (more than any you mentioned), it gets the job done. Hell, it has leaf springs and pushrods, yet is destroying anything in every degree of performance (maybe not as well in braking) that is within 2-3 times its price. I've got my mind made up.

Although the car is no doubt very fast lets not get carried away here... The enzo would still eat its lunch out, and its to be expected with similar weight bigger brakes more high tech suspension and 150 hp on tap more. Accelaration wise car has tested high 10 second ets with stock street (although very sticky!) tires!

The new Z06's should be on the streets in the next week or two, so keep your eyes out for them...they're coming. Who wants to bet me that drivers, once they get settled in the new cars will be able to hit 11.3x@ over 130 mph bone stock?

I just wish they made competent centrifugal blowers for our cars, that could put similar output as the biggest turbos.. Ill take slightly less for more response.

Lets see what the best of the supra aftermarket can do... boy good thing this is more like a 5-10 year term goal no?

Weight reduction on our cars should be simple since its filled with so many unecessities... I can see it being 3200 lbs dry and still have a decent interior. We already know that very wide wheels and tires can be fitted especially if rolled but ah i am dreaming.. I gotta take baby steps first baby stesp first...

So the enzo's a little quicker but remember its a whole lot more $$$$. What else can you buy brand new for 65K to 70K that matches the performance of a z06
