I think it would be pretty darn close too.

Our cars are good for low 14's in the quartermile, and it sounds like the 300C is in the same league.

It is heavier, but damn it has more torque than the GS so it should be close......

I second that.. I think it looks pretty sweet. Maybe not a Lexus, but a nice Chrysler none the less

I actually like the exterior- has a royal 'Bentley' look to it. Unfortunately, the interior looks like a Grand Cherokee... or any typical Chrysler product. Too bad.

I don't know who got the worse deal out of the Daimler-Chrysler merger- Was it Mercedes or Chrysler?
We should all be glad there are examples of a lot of car for the money, this combination of size, luxury and HP/torque are untouchable for the money, plus I'll take the poor man's Bently styling over typical cookie cutter any day, as far as the so called merger, it was really a takeover and in the process Chrysler lost all it's true car guys like Bob Lutz and others who were responsible for Vipers, Prowlers etc. (the cool stuff), they also lost cutting edge designers like Bryan Nesbitt. Mercedes thought it could bring it's conservative thinking and styling and translate that into quality, the big three build cars for mass production with low profit margins and you will never have stellar quality with that concept. Benz will contiue to be what is has always been, low volume, good quality, high profit vehicles, it's Chrysler who has lost their identity so in the end they are the big losers.

The lease on my GS430 is up in July. Since I could't extend my lease until the 2006 GS makes it's debut, I am seriously considering the 300C. I did take it for a test drive and was very surprised and impressed. I do like the styling and the seats appear to be very good quality. I'm currently haggling for the best (short term)lease price on a fully loaded 300C with no $ down for 24-28 months. Then I can get back into the GS. At that point the GS would have been out for some time and would probably get a better lease on it anyway. Don't get me wrong I love Lexus and I've had five of them. I will only take a short hiatus and will definately return.

By the way, did anyone see the 300C at the end of ER's season finale???

I saw it last night. For those who haven't seen it, one of the Doctors bought a
new 300C. It looks great standing still but even better in action! It was obviously
product placement advertising by Chrysler as the Doc was rambling off all the specs
and features to his colleagues. Also, they played many Chrylser commercials
throughout the episode. Anyway, the episode ends when the Doc with two others
are cruising minding their business and all of sudden some crazy guy in a Buick
Riveara races along side him and starts making trouble. He opens up his 300C and
loses him for a minute but the guy returns and starts shooting a gun at them! And boom,
the episode ends. We have to wait till fall to see whats going on.

This all took place at night under city and tunnel lights and the effects on the car were great.
The 300C is just amazing especially for the price. You really can't beat it.

I believe he said LEASE, in which case the value of the car at terms end means nothing.

We can't expect Lexus-like resale / depreciation from Chrysler or any
American make for that matter. Even Cadillac's and Lincoln's depreciate
in no time. This doesn't mean you should never buy American.

May be new math to you, but it doesn't matter what you lease, in the end you have NOTHING.
