i heard about this for months now. ive been sweating the sl55 for awhile but this car tops that! def a car i want!

I saw a black one behind me the other day on the 60 freeway and it was brand new without plates. I let him pass and saw the SL 55 emblem.

talking about the 65 not 55 ^__^

have you heard about the 63?

What an incredible beast. Now if they could figure out how to make the electric window work longer than 3 days, we'd have a winner.

Great car, but why put the 5 speed auto transmission? Don't they have a 7-speed auto on their other, less powerful AMG models?

I dunno, but I doubt any 7spd auto could handle that kinda tq.
even a 5spd is highly suspect to getting torn to shreds.

I doubt the car will ever get a manual due to emmissions.

Ive seen a couple new E55's with blown motors, seems like a nice GT car, not for track use.

Yes, actually only the SL500 has the 7 speed auto transmission in 2004.
SL55 & SL600 have 5 speed auto.
