Default "High mileage" club

Just came across this page on the Volvo website called the High Mileage Club. This is a club for Volvo owners who have driven at least 100,000 miles. I think the following excerpt from the web page vividly attests to the safety and quality of Volvo vehicles

"Perhaps the single most stunning example of legendary Volvo durability is the shiny red 1966 Volvo P1800 owned by Irv Gordon. So far it has been driven a world-record-breaking 2,000,000 miles and counting."

i wonder how it shows up 2,000,000 miles on the ODO meter. i belive it only goes to 999,999 miles on most of the cars.

I think most cars can be driven hundreds of thousands of miles. The only question is, how much money and time in the shop does it cost you to get there?

I think Lexus clearly wins when you use that criteria.

That Volvo has even been on the Tonight Show. Amazingly, it's all from one owner!

Come on guys, keep driving! Our Lexus cars can challenge that.

This car was on the news a while back. The owner says that all that was done with the car was regular schedule maintenance and such. There had been no engine rebuilds or anything of that nature.

I've got 197k and counting... there's an LS400 at Cerritos Lexus with something like 435K on it... great shape, too.
