I attended the Lexus Taste of Luxury this morning at Dodger stadium. I was with a group of 5 guys and after driving the cars in the sport/luxury section, we all came away with the same opinion. The SC430 was by far the best convertible, (0ver the Jag and XLR) the 545 edged out the GS430 in the sport sedan selection, but not by much.. considering the GS is now on it's 6th year, not bad at all.

Back to the XLR... what a big steaming pile that thing was. It has the most hideous interior, cheap feeling and completely non-intuitive... This car had under 500 miles and it was rattling. It was peppy, but that's all that I can say good about this car. What an annoying exhaust tone as well!!

At the end of the day , we all pretty much had the same opinion of the XLR. also, just asking people in the lines that had just driven the XLR, not too many people had anything good to say..

Wow. Well not surprising. You don't see the SC 430 based on a Supra like the Caddy based on a Corvette. And I agree with the interior. What were they thinking?

And then to add insult to our intelligence, it costs 85k???

How was the feel on the 545? Do you think it was a big step above the 540?
