You need to buy your first watch and then you’ll get hooked lol
Doesn’t need to be expensive, Seiko for example.
Meh, I waste money on other things, lol. I can't even have anything on my body, whether watches, bracelets, rings - they just irritate me. If I had a pile of cash burning a hole in my wallet, I'd waste it on a million other things before I'd even consider a watch.
I've also never bought any jewelry, and I wear plain clothes, and don't own any fancy branded stuff. Just don't care for any of that stuff, consider it useless.
My wife, other the other hand, loves to waste money on these things.
Same. I like good quality stuff but I don't care about branded stuff, in fact I avoid it. My wife doesn't like it either, thankfully! Same with Jewlery.
Agreed definitely personal decision.
To me the styling and tradition/history plus quality are important.
Most of the watches I have have been around a long time like 911 lol
Older watches have a certain elegance to them that modern watches dont have. Everything is so over styled and over decorated now. Similarly, vintage cars are so elegant, simple and pretty.
I hope the new Toyota GR GT will have that level of simplicity.

Branded stuff?
The watches that people buy are usually timeless pieces that have intricate movements, heritage etc.
I wasn’t into watches until I was into watches. A great friend put me on and explained things to me. Everything has appreciated and one day my son hopefully gets them.
And in certain rooms that’s what people look at. Which I was also schooled on. It is what it is.

Ye we all have different hobbies - I definitely waste the most on cars
"think of this as watches. if you wear a rolex, you only show people that you have money. if you wear a grand seiko, you show people that you are a watch guy."
that sounds like something that came from me haha... i've also seen the quote "you wear a rolex to impress others, you wear a grand seiko to impress yourself" (sounds like something someone who can't afford a rolex would say )
but honestly the LFA is so bespoke and so artisan it's up there with something like an f.p. journe since the 'regular' luxury watch brands no longer even apply
i still feel lucky to have gotten to see an LFA in the wild, it was only this once but holy **** in person it really does look the part... WAY more exotic looking than an R35 that people liked to compare it to

just like you getting mb, people get seiko.
they are all "branded stuff"

To relate to the LFA there are LFA watches.

yes, it's just so rare. only around 180 came to the US and god know how many are gone (or stowed away). outside of the one my friend owns, i have only seen one in the wild. and i am in socal where there are "quite a few" of them
compared to my gt2rs where i have seen no less than 10 around.

very simple but classy/elegant look, beautiful!
and that's one big reason why the value of lfa keeps going up!
