Got the Pacifica washed today. Carwashes after a snow event like this are always hilarious. You have these people who never go to carwashes who do because their car is just that filthy...have no idea what to do. Tesla Model Y in front of me, had no idea how to put it in neutral. Took 4 people to figure it out. Then he didnt know not to hold the brakes, 4 more people. Then at the end of the tunnel he couldn't drive out because he wouldnt get off the brakes...4 people to help again...

Jesus Christ.
That's so on brand for tesla owners but damn, hope they figure out FSD faster so those types of people just stop driving

rtfm…
tesla's car wash mode, available on all models via controls > service > car wash mode, prepares the vehicle for automatic car washes by closing windows, locking the charge port, folding mirrors, disabling wipers, and turning off sentry mode. It also enables "free roll" to keep the car in neutral, preventing the parking brake from activating.
So I'm importing an Audi A2 3L....So I have been looking into all the technical data I can get my hands on and found something extremely cool.
This is insane. They came up with a way to bolt the engine together from head to crank cap with one massive fastener to allow an aluminum block 19.5:1 compression diesel. For a car engine, in a mass market vehicle. Truly nuts just to claim the crown of highest MPG
THAT is how make a materials and weight optimized bottom end/engine, Toyota should take notes for their TTV6 engine lol!
It will ruin a lot of cars for you TBH, but in a way it also calms you down on the street because you know near nothing can touch you.
Especially in the wet if you are AWD, you don't feel compelled to race/respond to challengers if you are so fast it's just a waste of fuel to prove to them what you already known will happen.
Makes awesome side cash though, RWD hellcat bois think they have a prayer on the street and lose $500 on the bet lol!
Yeah, my Plaid has done that for me. My first love will always be a Corvette, but outside the $250k + dealer markuped ZR1X, not much can touch it. I drove a base C8 a few months back and it felt noticeably slower.

I find stuff like this insanely cool!
Yeah, but reading the fine print if someone removes one bolt the whole engine is junk.
Maybe I misunderstand but that's what it looks like to me. 👀

Last Vette I drove was a 2000's model.
They look so much different now.

Crazy money too.
No you are correct, can't undo the mains on it or the alum main caps and webbing will lose it's "memory".
That's the drawback to an otherwise impossible block design lol! It's still insane it works at all as many of these hit 400-500km without issues, for one of the highest if not the highest MPG non-hybrid cars ever made at 90-100+ MPG real world.
