When I ordered my X7 I checked all the boxes, DAPP and dynamic handling which most don’t get.
I wish I could have optioned DAPP. But BMW won't sell it with manual transmissions. Not like it's technically impossible--adaptive cruise is standard equipment on the Civic Type R, for example.
Sound like BMW's Uneven Surface Alert. It would pop up on HUD and alert you at 1000ft then go down as you get closer. How do you get this notification on your S?
It reads it out loud “pothole ahead” or “slippery road surfaces ahead” and it shows where as a pin on the navigation map.

S-Classes still have that, no?
It’s an option with MBC on the 222 and eABC on the 223. Mine doesn’t have it.

We're going to get more Arctic temperatures this weekend. ..and another thaw in the middle of the week.
Thank you because as someone who has driven a car for 25 years here I would never have known any of that. Yes, that was sarcasm.
I'm in Reno for work and ended up with a Ford Escape for my rental. Not a very impressive car. Interior is just.. Okay I guess. The 2.0 Ecoboost moves just fine but I hate the 4 cylinder sound from it. I really don't care for the dial shifter.
But, pulling back on the whole car the Katiba sealant's self cleaning properties are really still working. This has been driven in the winter nastiness for about 3 weeks now, and last night it was snowing and we were out to dinner...it actually doesn't look nearly as bad as it normally would:
No sir. I’ve never seen that light. I know we don’t have rear steering feature as it’s supposed to be a challenge to find and order from what I’ve read. I do know we have the crystal shifter whatever package that is. Our X7 was purchased on a shopping trip 😆
I asked my wife if she wanted something that drives itself and she said no thanks. She has a led 🦿 foot!! 🏁 🏎️💨
If you don't have a copy of the window sticker you can log in to My BMW and see what options etc. the X7 came with.

True, but we have not seen prolonged-frozen conditions this, at such low temperatures, in quite a few years. Twice in just the last few days water-mains broke near my house, creating more ice on the street...and more potential fuel for potholes.
I also mentioned it because, even if your suspension and cameras can read the road ahead of the car and adjust the shock-damping as needed, it's still better to avoid a pothole than hit it. Wheel alignments can run from $100-200 nowadays (perhaps even more at a M-B dealership)...and new tires/wheels/suspension parts can cost a lot more than even that.
Yes with FSD if you take over and move the steering wheel it will shut off. That’s what drives me crazy with Autopilot, if you want to change lanes it cancels the auto steering and you have to reset it.
Now that I remember, even when not in autopilot or FSD, if you change lane without signaling, the LKA would not be happy and push back hard, almost like it wants to steer hard to avoid an accident.

I hope the voice is as welcome as BMW's. Lol. I may be biased but I think BMW has the best voice and locking sound.

Come on.. I'm aware of all of this and you know it. You don't have to try and "teach" people basic knowledge all the time, its obnoxious. I've driven a car in the cold before. I know its better not to hit potholes. I know what an alignment costs.

The Distronic system doesn't do that unless LKA is on.
Voice is pretty nice, haven't really thought about it lol
It also reminds me conversationally when I leave my phone in the wireless charger or plugged in. It says variations of "Hey, you've forgotten your phone" or "Don't forget your Phone", has like 3-4 different ways of saying it that it cycles through.
107k mile furd expedition front diff full O glitter and dark as oil at the fill plug just been opened. Vs 200k Audi front diff
The ford quality is astounding these days. The rear diff was WAY worse somehow but I was so stunned when I pulled the drain plug/magnet that the customer and I forgot to take pictures
They really are. I actually think my LS460L was better in the back seat than my S Classes...
So I had some more coding done today. The guy was going to update my MBUX to the new 26.1 firmware, for some reason I haven't gotten the OTA update (no rhyme or reason really as to who gets it and when), but my PC laptop he needs to use is too slow. I'm going to get my hands on a better one and have him do it another day.
I decided against coding the engine stop/start off. I wouldn't be able to activate it when I want to, and I like sitting stopped with the engine off if I'm in the carpool line at school or something like that. I had him activate the sliding turn signals (ignore my filthy car):
And I had him activate "Maybach" and "Snow" drive modes. The Maybach one is a little ho-hum, I was hoping it would be a cushier suspension mode but it just gives it a very lazy/chauffeur engine drive mode, doesn't seem to do anything to the suspension.
So cool to be able to do stuff like this lol. Another thing I thought about doing but didn't is the Maybach taillight mode. Apparently Maybachs have a different LED lighting formation to the rear lights.
