Check the coolant level and that you aren't air locked, run a scanner on it to see ECU reported temp as well to make sure the gauge is accurate/showing what the datastream does. Make sure the dash doesn't use a separate sensor as that is very common to have multiple sensors on german cars for head, rad, gauge sampling locations.
Thanks, yeah there's a low coolant light and it's not on. Reservoir/radiator looks fine. No unusual heat from engine area, runs normal.
Got an email today that I joined Clublexus 23 years ago today. Crazy how long it’s been and how time flies. I had at least one Lexus from 2003-2019 but haven’t had one since. I do wish sometimes Lexus had a car I wanted again.

yes. Stock Bridgestone Dueller
I believe that’s what I have on tundra? How did they handle snow? I have a set of Toyo AT3s in storage I’ve been wanting to throw on.

handled it great. They are brand new, full tread. Love the tires, my truck rides with a softness to the suspension, and these tires also have a softness to them, tread life tires is not good at all.
Spoiler
have to go off grid: the full time 4WD was great. Never once locked the centre differential
ok back…what wheel/rim size on the Tundra? TRD spec?

Stock wheels that come on 1794. I believe tires are 275/55/20.
My AT3s are 275/65/20. I know when I put them on the mpg will decrease.
Gotta get a V35A Tundra with TRD off road package to get center diff lock 🫠 or I believe there’s an aftermarket option to add to 2.5 gen tundra. Not quite sure.
Those look really good. Does your car look that clean right now? If so that's impressive. My car looks like crap lol. I hope Spring arrives early. This storm sucks right now.
I should have bought these Tuxmats back in December. The regular all season Lexus floor mats are fine but they're flat at the sides and crap just goes right over them.
Yep, it looks like that because it hasn't been out in the slop yet lol. We've had an easy winter, until now!
Yeah the 3D mats are nice, so are those Tuxmats!

I honestly think if the car hasn't really sat for 3 months it wouldn't have gone bad, but we'll never know.
I can't emphasize enough how a well maintained old Benz needs to be driven (hard) and not sit for extended period of time.
I don't think it'll be an expensive fix, anyone have a guess?
Bad thermostat. No big deal on that car. On my car or an S560? $6,000 lol

The new Charger sedan will do very well with 6cyl and Hemi.
Only people who will buy those lower engine versions are rental car fleets, same as the Charger. Rental car fleets, police fleets and thats not the market they want to serve.

It's not the thermostat, the heat is hotter than ever. It's one of two sensors or both. I feel it in my bones it went bc the car has sat for a couple months with a couple of exceptions. I'm currently not driving it and haven't been bc the body shop left a clip off or something while repainting and they're just gonna come get it which is fine by me but it snowed, etc.
But correct, no big deal. This car really isn't that expensive to own at all I have found over the years. I got the last uncomplicated Mercedes, only the top is complex but it's very robust. The engine etc and transmission are pure workhorses, simple bricks.

Oh it's not that bad, $90-120 sensor and 2.7 hours
Didn't get around to installing my HPFP or flex fuel kit on saturday and won't be able to get to it myself due to how busy I am, so I'm hiring it out. Should be done on Wednesday.
Then I should have enough volume to maintain pressure and be able to run enough ethanol to clean up the timing from the shitty 91 octane we have here.
