Look at BMW - the M3 outsells the M4 but all the parts are identical.
The G8x is the first generation where this has been the case. Typically the M4 (or M3 coupe before they split them up) sells close to 3x the M3 sedan. This time around, the G80 slightly outsells the G82 coupe on its own, but if you include the G83 convertible, the M4 still outsells the M3.
I won't speak for all buyers, but I personally chose the G80 because I prefer the looks with the wide rear hips compared to the G82, not because I needed the rear doors. Every other car in the consideration set was a 2-door except the CT5-V Blackwing (which my wife immediately nixed so it was never really in the consideration set ). My final decision was actually between the G80 and G83. If the convertible were available with a manual, it would have been a slam dunk, easiest decision ever. Instead I debated between the roof and the third pedal, and the pedal eventually won.
When I hooked up my battery tester a month or two ago (which I do twice a year), it said it was at 97% health, and the CCA actually slightly exceeded the label rating. I took this as validation that the tester was correct, since this is by FAR the most challenging starting conditions it's seen in the past 3+ years, and it handled it fine. Start took maybe 1.5 secs vs. the typical just under <1 sec.
I'll keep an eye on it, but there's a jumper in the trunk and it's rarely far from home at any case.
Ah you made sound like it took 3 or so haha, nvm my
needless concern!
Yeah, our cars will look lIke that until March for sure.
Yeah it’s great in the winter. Heated armrests and door panels! Something amazing lol
HAHA yeah. That was my issue, finding a small one and then most faraday boxes are just boxes and not wall boxes.
Same issue here, had a box but always wanted a sane size and nice looking wall mounted box.
This snow is severely temping me to test one of the TVD cars.....I'm actively fighting the temptation because they are both totally clean. I'm super curious how they will perform though on non-snow tires but with the best drive system I have in the fleet.
Got my 3D Maxpider mats installed for the nastiness
Those look really good. Does your car look that clean right now? If so that's impressive. My car looks like crap lol. I hope Spring arrives early. This storm sucks right now.
I should have bought these Tuxmats back in December. The regular all season Lexus floor mats are fine but they're flat at the sides and crap just goes right over them.
Yeah, probably about 15-20 minutes. The wife already wasn't happy about going out when it was that cold, putting her in a freezing car was absolutely not an option.

This is not exactly true as typically the M3 is sold for fewer years - for example F80 M3 sold extremely well but last year of production was 2018 while F82 sold through 2020. It was also harder to get allocations for the M3 vs M4. Same situation for E90 gen.
Also the Ford Sedan version can offer AWD which would open it up to a much wider market for Daily duty hence why G80 M3 has sold well bec lots of owners just use it as their primary car, which was not ideal with previous generations that were RWD only.
They sell 50,000 Mustangs a year, no way they sell 100,000 V8 Mustang sedans lol. Putting that in context they were selling ~80K Dodge Chargers, mostly 6 cyl and a ton to fleets obviously. Armchair business planning with no basis in reality.
I would offer the base version with 4cyl Ecoboost in $40s, V8 in low 50s and Dark Horse version in $60s. Then a Supercharged version for $80k plus. The market is there.
The new Charger sedan will do very well with 6cyl and Hemi.
I think my temp sensor went bad. I drove around for an hour, heat was scorching hot and car running great..
I honestly think if the car hasn't really sat for 3 months it wouldn't have gone bad, but we'll never know.
I can't emphasize enough how a well maintained old Benz needs to be driven (hard) and not sit for extended period of time.
I don't think it'll be an expensive fix, anyone have a guess?
Check the coolant level and that you aren't air locked, run a scanner on it to see ECU reported temp as well to make sure the gauge is accurate/showing what the datastream does. Make sure the dash doesn't use a separate sensor as that is very common to have multiple sensors on german cars for head, rad, gauge sampling locations.
