What would it take to get the Prius to 600 miles ? Drive slow?
time to fuel ⛽️. Range is low. Today is gonna be a $100 full up
Coasting to stop lights and staying off the highway. I’ve done it one time when I saw there was a 600 mile achievement thread on 3rd Prius chat. Soon as I hit the 600 mile I pulled into the gas station because I was afraid I was going to run out.
Below is how far I drove with the gas light flashing…typically every tank I drive 100 miles with gas light flashing which will put me around having half a gallon left in the tank long as I average at least 45mpg for the remaining fuel when gas light starts flashing. Thats when I reset and use trip B. Fill-ups are around $25 from E.

True!
Tariffs are the reason. Most of the plug-in components come from Mexico or China. Electrification inflates the price, then the tariffs add more

I'd go get a fast food job before I used (destroyed) my own automobile to give others Uber rides.
They don't even make good money, not really.
Pay definitely sucks. Friend does it to kill time (cement truck driver - off during winter). Might make ~$15/hr after all is said and done. He's been using his 2010 Infinity FX35 (closing in on 300k miles ), which JUST became ineligible. ~15mpg & Premium gas don't mix well with Uber/Lyft.
For me the lack of dust alone is worth it, I also like the power/suspension tracking improvement as I have two otherwise identical cars I can A/B and feel the difference that 80lb unsprung rotational mass makes. Plus it's what it should have had stock but we never got here
Ceramic pads on traditional rotors also remove dust, and my S580 has no brake dust because most of the braking is done by the regen brakes.

My cousin did it for a while down in WV, he was the only Uber driver in town. He did pretty well, but you're right the profit isn't that great.
