I don't think the Hemi returning will make a big difference in Ram sales. I think there is something else about the truck that isn't vibing with people. I asked my business partner who has had the issues with his Silverado if he would go back to Ram and he said no, his next truck will be a Ford, the lack of the Hemi wasn't the reason why.
.
Reviewers seem to gussssshhhhh over it, it's supposed to be soooooooo nice..... But I agree. Sales are not good, pretty bad actually.
I think the V8 will sell well. We'll see.

I don't care about MPG. Neither do most V8 freaks. I would absolutely want a V8 3 series, it would be something to aspire to. That's how it used to be. Who gives a shyt that they don't sell many S65s, it's still a dream car. There's an old one around my neighborhood that I see out all the time, the exhaust is just ridiculous on it, We wave at e/o when I see him in the Benz. They hardly made any V12 R129s but everyone still wanted one. Just because, fk it.

I'm not saying ONLY offer V8s, not al all.
So when are you going to get the M120 R129?
As someone who likes to have the ultimate engines in his cars for my daily beaters I never get the large engines since the base ones are invariably easier/cheaper to own and are way more common. Most people only have one car so they can't easily justify the expense, even more so when they don't really enjoy it but just need to have a car to get places

Reviewers need to be in the good graces of mfgs If they want to keep getting prime access to drop videos before anyone. So if the mfg wants a product to have positive PR, that will be the reviewers opinion.
Trusting auto journalist opinion these days is risky business.

Oh it's definitely not the same... totally agree.
But reviewers, including the "professional' ones, seem to quite like the Ram and they have for a while.

They are really nice, but they have an almost european feel to them that is different than the Chevy and Ford trucks. His parents have the new Ram, and he had the previous gen Ram, the new Ram just doesn't do it for him.
In adding to my carwashing system I bought the stubby nozzle for my Ego Blower. This makes it much lighter and easier to use for this purpose and the tip is nice and soft:

And that’s fine for an edge case. But it can’t be the mainstream. Otherwise you don’t get your V8 because the car you want it in doesn’t exist at all.
There has NEVER been a V8 in a standard 3-series. Ever. So that’s not “how it used to be”. The only time a V8 has ever been in that chassis was the E9x M3. And that was only because it was a cut-down version of the S85 V10 in the M5 at the time.
But the original M3? 4 cylinder. And the volume 3-series, the ones that kept the model alive, have pretty much always been either an NA straight 6 or a turbo 4. Without those you don’t get the delightful TT I6s in the 335i/340i/M3.

But you did say they should not have developed the Hurricane, because the only thing the lineup needed was a new Hemi. Unless you think the Pentastar or a similar successor is a competitive engine, that’s kind of the same thing.
I considered a Hemi Grand Cherokee before we got the current Pacifica. It felt better than the Pentastar for sure, but wasn't "quick" in any way. I haven't driven a GC with the Hurricane but I am confident it will feel faster.

Great I have the same leaf blower and now I need that. I didn’t know they made a shorter nozzle. Where did you get it?

I'm aware. I wasn't being that literal. But I really don't remember 318s outnumbering 325/328s then. Plenty of people got the upgraded engine. I don't understand the problem with offering an extra tempting engine as an option these days. People will buy them.

The Grand Wagoner had a 6.4L 473hp V8 NA and did 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. I don't need nor want it faster than that especially if I lose everything V8. Sound, feel, instant torque. The Hurricane does have some turbo lag, as potent as it is.
I don't get it? I don't want V12 maintenance costs. Do you have any idea how much more expensive the car would be to maintain? I'm not worried about exclusivity. Silver Arrows were like 1.5% of R129 sales overall here.
I bet this CEL costs me $200, you said yourself it was cheap and easy. I'd really not like to see the CEL on with the V12 lol.
I always try to get the V8 in a SUV if it an option and not too much more. The MPG wasn’t great, I think I usually averaged 17mpg around town but on road trips it was more like 21mpg and I would get over 400 miles on a full tank so the 40i gets a good bit more miles to a full tank but for a V8 it is worth it to me.
A friend of mine just got one for his wife a month ago at $10k off sticker. Some time last year the dealer wanted $10k OVER sticker and he just walked and laughed. How times have changed and quickly.
I did joke with him and said I hope your engine doesn’t grenade and he said he knew about that.
They have gotten deeper, but supply is drying up, as folks have gotten wind of it.

Do you know how much more expensive it is to maintain and fuel a V8 vs a 6?
Same thing you are saying about the 12 is what people say about 8s and then extol on and on about their "butter smooth and fast V6" and how the V8 is just pointless and wasteful and "I never wanted it anyway"
And I know exactly what a 12 costs to maintain lol! In my garage, less than a Camry owner who goes to a dealer. In anyone else's well......good luck.
