I've been getting alternating letters from the Nevada DMV notifying me of impending suspension of my registrations because my vehicles are supposedly not insured.
What the hell is this? I have maintained consistent coverage for years. My insurer is denying that they have failed to report my policy to the state database, they also say my prior insurer(i switched in early July) reported my old policy cancelled a day earlier than the set cancellation, causing a 1 day lapse in coverage which has destroyed my 20 year record of uninterrupted coverage, so there goes those discounts.
I'm livid. So far I've managed to get the state to admit that my truck is insured, but no dice yet on the BMW, so it sits in the garage for now.
I wonder if a Hurricane GW or Ecoboost Navi would deliver mpg like this on the highway… I doubt it honestly. V8s just loaf at these speeds, turbo engines would be into the boost. I’ve gone about 250 miles at 70-75 MPH. Hilly.
Just steady highway driving, no doubt they would deliver that mileage. Where turbocharged engines don't deliver on mileage is when you're spooling the turbos up a lot.

I remember when I traded in my G35 for my G37 wayback. A couple days after the transaction I got a notice from the DMV of a notice of registration suspension. I was like WTF!?
The DMV also thought I lapsed on coverage for whatever reason. I had to fax a bunch of crap to Harrisburg to prove I didn't have a lapse in my coverage. I was with Esurance (Allstate) at the time and it was easy for me to prove I never went without coverage. I returned to the Infiniti dealer to find out if they messed something up on their end. All I remember them telling me was that the DMV/Harrisburg was all screwed up and that it was happening to a lot of people. Sure enough the local news ran a story about a week later saying exactly that.
It was my first taste of incompetent state government screw ups. Hopefully you can prove that your prior insurer accidentally cancelled on you a day earlier than you requested. I wish you the best of luck.

Yes. My cousin rented a GW last summer and drove it from MN to LA got similar mpg as well as my other cousin who followed him in his X7.
