I like VETTEV8 but it would fit better if you had an Escalade V.

Think how that conversation would go in the car behind you if you had MFNV8 on your plate.

”mom/dad what is mfnv8?”

Dad: “Muthaf*ckin V8!!!”

And of course you have to paddle downshift at every stop light. I do it quite a bit in the Supra in sport mode. It crackles and pops on the downshifts.

what other manufacturer out there has a full out hybrid in a grand tourer? And the 8GR engine actually debut in 2017. It’s a relatively new engine. It embodies older style Lexus. According to ChatGPT.

Going bold here friend. @SW17LS really wants LS 500h. But doesn’t actually know it. In the transmission is a multi stage. Plus, it could marry to a mechanical Torsen centre differential

It’s kinda cool one can enter exit the garage drive emissions free

Safe to say @SW17LS has outgrown all Lexus models.

And speaking of cool, our garages were a lot cooler inside when we parked hybrids in them vs the turbo vehicles we park in them now. That’s one thing I do notice. Even at night our garages are considerably warmer with the turbo vehicles in the stalls unless we didn’t drive them that day.

I wouldn’t say that. I would love to have an LC. I would also get a TX PHEV if that’s what my wife wanted.

The turbos are definitely hot. Mine runs the fans for 5 solid minutes after shutdown in the garage.

No one does because it's a trash offering for a high end car.

The LS500h transmission is a POS CVT slapped in front of a clunky 4 speed that never knows what gear to be in and combines the rubber band drone and delay of a CVT with a poorly shifting automatic. All combined with a weak and outdated old V6 that is loud as hell and gutless up top.

Why don't you stop using AI to think and actively go drive one IRL?

Hot-V is that way. Nice short runners for great response and efficiency, but heat soak always needs to be accounted for. Mine does not do that even if I've run it hard, because the turbos are mounted to the side of the block.

Speaking of your car. Where does BMW go with the B58 and S58 in the future? Increase displacement, more boost from the factory?

BMW has achieved near perfection with their turbo inline 6 and ZF8. I'm trying to think of the last engine that got universal praise like that.

What’s interesting is my S560 never did that…same engine and turbo layout.

Meh, mechanics and folks who yell at clouds said similar things with power windows, efi, obd2, etc etc. The industry on both sides of a cars development and maintenance adapted and progress continued.

G84 begins production in exactly 3 years (July 2028), and the expectation is that it will be a slightly revised S58 with 48v mild hybrid. M chief has confirmed it will not be full hybrid or PHEV. I could certainly see them doing electrically assisted turbos like Porsche did for the 911 GTS. That would help with low end, and also open the door to potentially lowering the already-low 9.3:1 compression ratio and adding even MORE boost.

B58 I'm not sure. They've already lowered the compression ratio from 11.0:1 to 10.2:1 and added 48v. They theoretically could go to mid/high 9s and add electric turbos or go back to a sequential setup with one turbo a little bigger than the current one and the other MUCH smaller. But the latter feels like more expense than they'd want in a mainstream engine.

I don't see them increasing displacement.

Got the new floormats for the ES300, didn't take a ny pictures because...they're floormats. I always run Lloyd Luxe mats in all my cars and that car had a 20 year old set in them, they were in surprisingly good shape but its leaked in the past and they are holding all kinds of smell and dust etc. Lloyd mats are great. I went with a set of cheaper "Ultimats" for it and they are also extremely nice.

Next thing I'm going to do is have the paint polished, I think it will come back a lot. Then I will have about $1,500 into it and I think its gone from a car that really did need to go to the crusher to a car that is safe and enjoyable to drive.

Nice. Do they make laser fit mats for older vehicles or are those cut to fit?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a LS 500 hybrid on the road.
