General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 2
Looks quite good again Steve! That code is very likely the small hoses going directly into the EVAP purge valve, they tend to crack with age and the valve also sometimes locks up. Very easy fix and would take you like 5 min to cut the old lines back and stick barbed adaptors on with new hose, throw a new purge on and done.
Yeah that makes sense...we'll see lol. I'm going to take it to my mechanic at some point and have him give it a look over, if its not too expensive I will have him do that. The light stayed off for days and it wasn't until I was driving it way more than it is normally driven today it came on. My guess is with her driving it would never come back on.
Braver than i am to take both those very large vehicles on the ferry.
The remote mounting really seems to help with the life of the battery. I replaced my OG battery last year. It was 7 years old, still looked clean as a whistle. 7 years is a long life for a car battery around here. Can't imagine 13.
Yeah it seems to work really well alongside active management, my other D4 W12 was also on its original but I was scared they just won't start one day lol!

Why is the blower motor not working on 1-3.....that's weird, can't unseat the connector.
Oh right, Hyundai.
Anyone remember that blue Hyundai I customer of mine dumped and I fixed up and got working correctly again?
Well it ended up going to my sister and in perfect, classic, true to form Hyundai owner fashion she allowed her boyfriend (she can't even drive) to totally ignore my instructions for care.
I took the time to decarbon the rings and fixed the intake flaps on top of all maintenance like new brakes, trans service, all worn parts etc etc even including a set of new tires. I told them to use Valvoline R&P in 5w-30 and to change it at 2k miles for the first 6k and then 5k thereafter and to always check oil level when filling fuel. This was to ensure the rings get totally cleaned and to prevent any issues moving forward......
However all she did was add yet another datapoint to my chart that most "unreliable" cars are just moronic owners. Y'all think a 24500 mile oil interval is reasonable? Or never checking anything and relying my mom to be the only one who checks and fills the oil whenever they visit them? That the only reason they showed up at all is because the AC module needed to be replaced?
AITAH?
