Then again, the germans make some of the best electronics but they over engineer and thus make a lot of failure points.

It will be one or the other. Lol
Yep, it will never work or never ever give you a problem.

In other news, I think my rattle is still there but is much better. Pouring rain out there and when it's wet is when you really hear it. I'll keep driving it over the next week and take it back if it's still there.
What exactly is your rattle? You never mentioned it prior to the GLC post

Its a slight rattle right at the base of the windshield that is really based on acceleration and deceleration. If you rock the car back and forth on the brakes you will hear it, and its much worse when the car is wet which leads me to believe its outside the firewall. When I picked it up it was totally gone, but now that its been raining I think I can hear it again faintly, I will get it washed tomorrow and see if that brings it out.

Whatever they did definitely improved it.

This is a good example, this is MUCH worse than mine, This car had the repair to the cross members that mine had:

Attached is a video from an MB World member, his repair wound up being the lower steering column, he just got his back and its solved.

So it's bricked. Haha
Won't even boot up.

Yeah, they'll have to reflash it with a fresh copy of new firmware.

I would have the entire cowl apart and chassis ears on the firewall if one of my cars was doing that! Could you perhaps inspect the firewall/column gasket? I would be shocked if you are getting chassis flex so my initial thought is subframe shift at the bushings or something that is soft mounted like the rack is moving ever so slightly against rubber

That was their thought. They had it all the way down, all the cross supports off and the subframe down and greased and retorqued everything.

It may just be my imagination. The Carwash tomorrow will tell me. As soon as you pull out of the wash you can feel/hear it.

How are the antennas supposed to attenuate and send a signal if you short them to ground? Lol 🤣

I noticed, in the video, that the engine is lugging along at only 1100 RPM at 60-65 MPH....a result, no doubt, of extremely tall gearing. While Mercedes V8s, if running properly, are generally smooth by nature, maybe whatever vibrations that do come from that low RPM and lugging could be contributing to the rattle-problem you describe. Or maybe a defective weld behind the dash from the factory.

Thats not lugging on a M167, they are able to produce about 80 hp at that range and the car is very easy to move.
