The most inaccurate stereotype of all is that all real "Car" people place performance and aggressive-driving over quiietness/relaxation/comfort behind the wheel. The truth is that there are two types of classic car-enthusiasts....those who pursue speed and high-G cornering/braking, and those who like to drive in a more isolated manner. The former tend to dominate the auto-forums, and to a lesser extent, the auto-press....but the latter is just as present, and is often actually more present on the roads.

Only that at least one of the stereotypes is true lol:

The same S&P Global Mobility study shows that the average Lexus owner is 57.6 years old. The average Mercedes owner is 55.7 and BMW 54.3. For the luxury segment overall, the average age is 54.0. So, yes, the Lexus owner is older on average.

So, yeah they are older.

Lexus owners just want a soft and comfy ride on the way to the golf course. We have no doubt that this holds true for plenty of owners. However, there are plenty of owners who appreciate high performance, as indicated by the success of the Lexus ‘F’ models. There are owners who go to track days and push their cars to the limit. Toyota has an impressive history in motorsports, and there is no question that plenty of owners are drawn to this.
The one's they cancelled? :uh:

There is some truth to the stereotype that Lexus owners are women. In fact, 50.4 percent of owners are woman. That compares to 43.9 percent for Mercedes owners and just 38.7 percent for BMW. In the luxury segment in general, the percentage of women owners is just 40.6. Lexus has done an outstanding job of building vehicles that appeal to both men and women.
So yeah they are over 50% women which is much higher than the German competition or the segment average.

10. They Are Intelligent

Studies about Lexus owner IQ levels are limited. So, we can’t say with any real conviction that Lexus owners are more or less intelligent than anyone else. However, Lexus owners typically make good money. A typical indicator of higher education and intelligence, although there are certainly exceptions. Lexus owners are also smart enough to buy a car that is reliable and will hold its value well. The owners are generally older, and as we said previously, with age comes wisdom. So, it is a safe bet to assume Lexus owners are reasonably intelligent.
So its a stereotype that they are intelligent...and you're saying they are...but thats a stereotype that isn't true? :uh:

After reading that article I lost about 20 IQ points so the stereotype is definitely true.

TLDR:

10 Lexus Stereotypes That (Mostly) Aren't True

1. They Are Toyota Grads
2. They Are Old
3. They Are Wealthy
4. They Prioritize Comfort Over Performance
5. They Are Not ‘Car People
6. They Are Frugal
7. They Prefer Quiet Luxury
8. They Are Women
9. They Are Bad Drivers
10. They Are Intelligent

*** EDIT: In MY case, at least 5, if not more, ARE TRUE ***

I would not agree with the sterotypes that Lexus products are for women. If the ownership-stats show women at 50.4% and men at 49.6%, that is an almost dead-even split.....less than a half-percentage either way. That does not make it a stereotype in my book.

Now, if you DO want to see a female-stereotype that (maybe) DOES have some credibility, look at Mini-Coopers and the small VW convertibles, particularly in the bright or pastel colors ....although most of the VW ragtops are now out of production.

It is a significantly higher percentage of women buyers than competitors or the segment overall though, and its more women buyers than male buyers. Doesn't mean the brand is "for women", but clearly Lexus appeals more to women than the segment as a whole or Mercedes or BMW

Like most stereotypes there is some truth to it.

I'm a Toyota grad lol. But I also went to the Germans before going back to Lexus. While also still dabbling in German cars. :D

What can I say? Most of these are true to some extent.

7. They Prefer Quiet Luxury

Lexus owners don’t like loud, flashy, colorful cars.

Not flashy, so what is this look?

The only reason I'm driving an RX330 is because of my wife.

I wanted a Hummer 2 but she hated it and was afraid of it because she couldn't see well out of the windows.

It's her fault I'm here! Haha 📣 💯 🍕 🍟 🌭 👀
