I saw that episode many years ago.
That's the day I decided to grow my mustache like the TV show host. Haha

I didn't know they did that haha!

I've just done it so I know, and we were using full on rifles. Handguns just won't cut it unless you have an insane round like a 9x25 or a contact explosive round (take a gold dot, fill the cavity with blue dot and cap with an LP primer and expoxy over it) to get the vapors ignited.

Now if you shoot a battery......yeah those light the hell up with ease. A 7.62 AP round to any BEV from nearly any angle that intersects the pack is an instant lithium fire. Old 18650 cells make fun 25 yard handgun targets

Lollllllllllll

https://www.kbb.com/car-news/is-the-hemi-v8-coming-back/

“Honestly, the bigger issue is not Hemi vs. T6,” Kuniskis said. “The bigger issue is we took away a fundamental American thing. Americans love freedom of choice more than anything.”

Hmmm.... ya don't say? He's also only half right, the first sentence is false.

Propane tanks are another thing that's really really hard to light off, only consistent round that would was 7.62x51 raufoss or .50 API but you expect both to do that. Normal 7.62 and 6.5 would just tear the tanks open
Yeah what you need is a spark.

Yup, I was going to bring up API rounds...

And vapor. Liquid gasoline doesn't ignite very readily, but the vapor is highly explosive. Thus in this context especially, tanks with little fuel in them are far more likely to explode than those with more. A full tank would be basically impossible.

Agree on all counts, it is possible though.

I think the first part is true also. The T6 can coexist alongside the V8, it does with Ford for example.

Where it outsells the V8 3-1.

Ram sales are down pretty significantly. I’m not saying it’s all because the Hemi is gone, but…. Well, um. The current Ram is better than ever. The higher end trims are supposed to be incredible.

A major opinion among Ram die hards is “screw this I’m getting a 2500 with the Hemi…” from a lot that I’ve seen.

Bring it back and offer both. I knew this would come back and bite automakers in the ***. Foreigners, well some including that (fired?) CEO, they just don’t get how Americans are with some things. Like this and guns, lol.

I don’t think Charger/Challenger fans are too thrilled about no more Hemi V8 as well and instead a $90k EV with a speaker that makes phony ICE sounds.

GM is the smart one here. And they’re outselling everyone.

They’ll never drop the 5.0 if they know what’s good for them.

There are a lot of reasons why Ram sales are down, in that article he discusses them. I do believe the loss of the Hemi is a part of it though. The ethos of Dodge etc is just so wrapped up in the Hemi.

I'd really like some details on GM's new small block coming out.

I'm assuming this will be for the '27 or '28 model year(s) which will be here before we know it.

$876MM in R&D, I have high hopes. GM knows Americans love V8s, they sell the milk-toast 5.3L like hotcakes even though it's way behind the ttV6 competition in speed. People don't seem to care.

Also, lol does anyone ever run into their husband/wife out on the roads? This just happened.

My wife has one of those photographic memories, she knows all the license plates of our cars by heart. Once she called me while I was driving..."didn't you see me, I just drove past you!" Lets just say if she ever saw my car parked at a house that's not ours, I would be in world of hurt and trouble 🤣
