Of course you find a dumb car more interesting, doesn't surprise me. Smooth as glass, instant torque on demand, always up to date, sports car performance when you need it, as well as the ability to drive itself when needed, not your style. I get it
I don't even know what a "dumb car" is. The point is why impose what you like and dislike on someone else? I don't like Teslas, I just don't like them and would never buy one. That doesn't make them bad, just my preference. So, I would choose the Lexus for sure. You love your Tesla and thats great, but that doesn't make it objectively better for every buyer.

Model Y with FSD is by far the best car for this person they simply refused to put misconceptions and prejudices aside. Sounds familiar.
Are you buying and driving their car? If the answer isn't "yes" then its not about you...its about them. The only person who can decide what the best car is for someone is themselves. Their choice isn't wrong because its a different choice than you would make.
No misconceptions or prejudices in my case, they just don't appeal to me outside of the Model S. Maybe they just don't appeal to your family member either
I'm not sure why anybody is constantly trying to "convince" me or others of anything. There's nothing to convince...they're just not my thing. Nobody has tried to convince either of you that our cars are right for you.
You guys seem to think its the only choice worth making and thats just not true.
If you have no interest then why are you here? And making excuses left and right for Lexus on top of it.

4. Remember that Club Lexus is a Lexus enthusiast forum, including EV Chat. While Toyota / Lexus EV offerings and efforts are (currently) relatively immature and undergoing growth and change, constant badmouthing and trolling will get you ejected from this forum. See rules #2 & 3, it's OK to say you don't like something or disagree with some strategy or direction but keep it polite and don't be repetitive. Lexus is why we all ended up here in this community, give them a chance.
Its all good, there is no such thing as the "best car". You're driving the best cars for you but that doesn't mean that they are the best cars for everybody. Thats why acting like people are making "mistakes" by choosing one car over the other is silly.

All I wanted is for this family member to TRY a Model Y or at least see one in person. They refused. I even tried to trick them didn't work. I know for a fact it's the best car for them the combination of space, performance (they LOVE having power) safety and tech can't be beat. I don't see how anyone can debate this. They commute 40 minutes daily each way that is tiring and frankly after a long day at times not safe. Yet I was told that doesn't matter at all.

I saw a post and commented on it lol, thats all. My comment wasn't about you praising the car you bought and love its about you thinking its the best car for everybody because you love it.

They didn't want to look at a Tesla for whatever reason...no big deal. Everybody has different things that are important to them.
When I suggest a car to somebody if they push back I just drop it. Their car is their business. I tell people all the time we are considering an EV and I get a lot of "I would never buy an electric car" blah blah, I just shrug my shoulders and move on. Honestly in this day and age there aren't a lot of "bad" options so its not like people are hurting themselves by choosing one car over another.

Missed this from earlier, this is absolutely not true BTW. I suggest Teslas to people all the time. If you want a good EV hard to go wrong with Tesla.
And no every choice people in your family make isn't about you. Why would you factor into a family member's decision about their own car? Was this your spouse? My BIL and SIL just bought a Chrysler Pacifica just like ours, I gave them our experience and they drove ours but their decision wasn't "about" us.
