Truck was bought brand new from Byers Toyota by the current owner. Aka no, not used vehicle type problems and you are in the south aka EASY mode for vehicles.
I'm in the hard mode area and the only Toyota stuff that doesn't do this is the Lexus LS due to all the extra under shields and coatings. My RXs rusted, I've seen "low" mile GSs rusting, and LX/GXs rot like these trucks and it's purely a lack of ability on Toyotas part.
Same year and mile BMWs, Audis, and post 2006 Mercedes all avoid this. My 348k mile MK4 jetta had no rust other than the front fender drain issue they all have as well as 10+ other ones I've worked on. The top examples were a red Jetta I bought to harvest its interior that sat in a field for 6 years and an A6 that sat for 7. Nether had any issues underneath and that A6 is still driving around to this day at 250k+ miles and I see it for needed fixes.
Second gen GX’s like I used to have were notorious for rusting but I wonder if it was just surface rust. It seemed many people on this forum would get the underside coated with fluidfilm to avoid this. I never did and had mine for over 6 years and no issues at all in that time frame.
Don’t buy used vehicles that lived up north. 🥶❄️🫣 I found a Supra that came from Canada. Hard pass on it. 🫣
Find this hard to believe.
Here’s underneath my ‘08 Tundra in ‘14 with 100k miles getting a magnaflow muffler installed. Never experienced any of the issues your customer is experiencing. 🤔🧐 My truck lived outside, in the south.

That stuff does work well, issue is you need to apply it any many people don't. Undercoat just kills the car....
so i went to the local new (since sept) genesis dealer. when i had a genesis ('18-21) i got it next door at the hyundai dealer, but now they're handled by the new gorgeous genesis dealer.
anyway, had to snap a pic of these 2 g90's... what beauties!

I see that Genesis is doing (more or less) the same thing that Lexus does with the "December to Remember" program.....using gift-wrap bows, except that Lexus typically uses red ones.

What is interesting is Annapolis the Genesis dealer got the old Hyundai/Genesis crappy building and Hyundai moved to a brand new really nice building.

‘The side looks good. Not a fan of the front end grate.
Does it still have a V8?
Spoiler
I like the look of these wheels.
I think Hyundai would do really well with a Genesis body on frame SUV

The Hyundai brand moves way more product. So I can see the rationale.
