I honestly don't know. I interrogated them asking where it's parked, how often washed, care etc and he parks inside or on concrete pad and does follow book maintenance.
Guess this truck is just junk
This sort of wrecks my theory about Toyota and their manufacturing consistency. The theory was based on my 1GS because any problems, most of which were cosmetic, on that car was present in every then active members with a 1GS. They all had needle flicker for MPH and RPM instrument cluster needles. The trim in the center console around the shifter would crack and need replacement. The exterior window trim separated and needs to be MacGuyvered a bit. The spare tire well would fill partially with rain water. These were all minor issues to me and I fixed or had all of them fixed. There was a guy at CL who refurbished the instrument clusters. I sent him mine when the car was being painted. He worked his magic and sent me my cluster with a beautiful, brighter LED backlight and very vivid, red needles. It sort of modernized the car but only from the driver’s seat All of these things are minor and have nothing to do with drivability or reliability.
Use your LS430, it's a very balanced chassis and easy to control.
It's down in FL lol! I don't have the 02 anymore, and the 430s are kind of prone to step out quickly after understeering.....that's why I changed the suspension on the 02 to the sport variant and used the larger rear sway bar. Otherwise it was too boat for me
This is a newer Toyota (post 2010) so I'm not shocked, they became more inconsistent in those years and everyone else DRAMATICALLY improved to where we are today with the most reliable and powerful Toyota turbo engine is from BMW.

Except for Hyundai and Kia which had several engine failures on new cars. Average wait for a new engine was more than three months. I know three people that were affected by these failures.
So we're about to head out to NJ for my wife's family Christmas this weekend. Ran out to get the van gassed up and washed, when I left the carwash it was a blizzard lol. Oh well, glad it was a free carwash!

So many cars and trucks with failing engines these days it seems!!!
I had a friend who had two RAM Hemi go kaput on him. He ended up buying a 6 cylinder diesel RAM and then something happened to it where he was worried it wouldn’t restart or so he was driving around all day without ever turning off the engine as he was concerned to wouldn’t start. He eventually got to the mechanic by the end of the day. My brother also had a Mercedes where the engine went kaput. And two Hyundais did the same

Yep. I hear GM was having issues with the 6.2 blowing too.
As much as I love the Denali, I sure don't have to worry about my LX V8 engine blowing that's for sure.
Though in the Denali it would have likely already blown if it had an affected engine.
Yeah the GM 6.2's have been spinning bearings is my understanding. And the GM V8 engines have had lifter issues ever since cylinder deactivation was introduced in the late 2000's.
Sucks about the snow. It's open sunroof weather here this week.

Snazzy interior in the Bimmer!
They've probably got the AFM situation fixed by now, at least I hope. It's completely transparent. I don't want it though and am debating buying this device that claims to disable AFM (so, V8 100% of the time) that you just plug in the ODB port and leave it.

It looks like your 5 Series interior and mine are the same. Ivory White leather and Grey Poplar Wood Trim? I've always thought that the leather and wood combo look good together.
