I see you're like me...you keep the lane-centering feature off. That can be important.....especially if or when (as in construction zones or on wet roads at night) there are confusing or no clear lines on the pavement for the camera-sensor to try and follow.
The one in my Encore GX also does not operate below about 35-40 MPH, even when turned on. You can watch the green/yellow/white on/off indicator flash back and forth between those speeds. Even in the Owners' Manual, it mentions around 37-38 MPH as the critical speed.

Made it back from WV, check out this gas mileage! This is close to 10% better than the old one on the highway. This is right as I got off the highway being rerouted off the highway for traffic...
I’m disappointed and surprised you didn’t exceed the EPA estimate by 80%.

Thats the lane keep assist, the car also has lane centering which is different. LKA annoys me, lane centering is incredible.

No but I would have understood the hubris a little despite still disapproving. An A6 just prompts laughter and you know the person is a "type"
The car is irrelevant. As Margate correctly noted, the arrogance to routinely park in the handicapped spot told the whole story about this person. She was great but only in her own mind. She gave jobs to family members. Those of us who were actually hired were not treated well. If it had been a Bentley, the guy I am sure reported it (though he denies it) would have just called the police about it sooner.
When you get more skilled at driving, your mpgs will round to even numbers with no decimal place.
Takes many years to get to that level of driving perfection consistently.
Spoiler
I booted this exact scenario yesterday. I was driving to my division HQ in LA and I won’t tell you the company because I know we are a pariah. I was doing about 37.0 even on 5 North all the way through Anaheim area (Disney money….cough) and then I got to the spot where it narrows and the carpool lane goes away. So traffic was sort of a factor. I got 35.3 and I should have let the car idle to round if to 35.0. lol
Its like the guy that can stop the gas pump to an even dollar, like a boss!
I try to stop with 37 to the right of the decimal point. It’s prime. It’s got a 3 and a 7. What’s not to like? This is car chat. I did all of this with a car.
in 1998 GM has AUTO-4WD. Can’t believe primitive part time 4wd is still used today
Make no mistake, this is still part time 4wd. "Auto 4wd" engages the front prop shaft automatically under certain conditions, but it is absolutely part-time and should not be engaged in high-traction environments.

it has auto-4wd. Set it and forget it. Runs in RWD and any slip, the computer engages to the front and rear.

Correct. But the distinction between part time and full time 4wd is whether there is a center differential. This system does not have one, therefore it is part time.
This particular system also engages extremely abruptly, because it functions by having all the 4wd bits already connected and spinning, but the prop shaft mostly disconnected through an internal clutch. It engages by dumping that clutch and instantly sending 50% of all engine torque to the front axle. As a result, it can further disrupt a vehicle if it engages during a skid.
