who the hell has incandescent brake lights these days? i think my last car with those was nearly 10 years ago maybe.

agree on this. hd/lowes will use lowest bidder contractors.

you got lots of use out of your home warranty because you bought crappy appliances. own it.

Stuff is not made as well as it used to be, sorry.
too much of a blanket statement. and when is 'used to be'?

my refrigerator was new around 2010 i think. ice maker didn't last long but i didn't use it anyway. compressor died about 5 years in, but lg had extended the warranty due to a know defect so got that for free + labor. i decided to have the ice maker replaced then too. since then... perfect.

my dishwasher is about 7 years old i think. kitchen aid. silent. fantastic!

washer dryer were top of the line front loading whirlpool in 2005 (!). still going strong. i replaced the dampness sensor in the dryer once (peanuts) and the door switch on the washer once (also peanuts).

I miss dishwashers that would burn your fingertips,
if i open the door of my kitchenaid before the cycle has been completed a while, the steam that comes out could burn anything.

again, are there newer appliances that were cheaply made or questionable designs that aren't as reliable as some old very simple 'tanks'? sure. but to say everything was better 'back in the day' is just not true.

dead on... but he's not going to change.

Sucks when it's not. Even worse when you are fully stopped and they hit you.

Thank you for lifting me up, yeah.
I was a little down on myself for not seeing it.

I thought maybe I misjudged the speed of oncoming traffic but he was hauling rice that's for sure.

I almost got hit by an Altima today. We were getting on the freeway and it’s two lanes. The ramp is metered meaning when it’s turned on, everyone has to stop. The Altima passed me on the right to get to the red light first which is of high importance. Altima gets there and gets the green light first and then I got the green and went. Altima stays in the far right lane which is 22E. If you want to go 57N or 5N, you have to merge left at least one lane and possibly 2 or more. It is forbidden to plan ahead while operating an Altima so, as expected, Altima boy almost hits me in the process of cutting me off. I was impressed that the registration was only 3 months out of date. I also appreciated that, just after this, one of those goofy little Benz CUVs was willing to tailgate me within less than 10 feet at 60 mph while the left lane was wide open. I really dislike driving now because the stupid have us outnumbered.

Ugh. I was rear-ended 6 times over a period of probably 4 years. In no cases had my car been moving in the 10 seconds prior to the collision. In 2 of them, my car had been fully unoccupied and locked for at least 10 minutes.

Big Altima Energy must be avoided at all costs. You have to try your best to stay away from it. The most dangerous Altimas for me are when I'm occasionally in Philadelphia and the ones that come up from Wilmington, DE. Bullet holes, cracked windshields, bumpers falling off etc. Standard Altima stuff.

I've said the same on here many times. Very early Saturday and Sunday morning is the only time I enjoy being on the road.

All that being said, don't let crappy drivers discourage you from getting an IS 500.

Ugh that stinks. Downtown Chicago driving or out in the suburbs? That's some really bad luck.

That is peak Altima energy and base car badge owner behavior for sure......that's one reason I like having cars powerful enough that situations like that can be put a mile back in 10 seconds or less

Thats horror level stuff! I've only had it happen once

How did people hit you 2x when the cars were off the road?

All suburbs.

Once was in the parking lot at the hardware store while I was shopping. The other time was in the parking lot at work, sometime between lunch and 4pm. The truly brutal irony was that in both cases, it had been recently repaired from an on-road incident. For the work one, the body shop was not amused that I returned to have it fixed again 2 days after picking it up.

You make a good case for 360 degree cameras always recording when not in the vehicle. Lol
