That's what's unique about it versus all the other V8s we have. If you gun the other three cars you just go faster and the engine revs.... The engine notes don't change the more gas I give them...

The 3UR 5.7 literally rumbles considerably more/harder when you dig into the gas. It's hard to explain. It's glorious.
The LX was pretty quiet. I used to have an Magnaflow muffler on my last Tundra. I grew tired of the noise eventually and went back to stock. Current Tundra is all stock but still has a little rumble to it. I noticed the air box is different than it was on the LX and on my ‘08 Tundra.

The 5.7 in my Tundra can definitely growl, especially when pulling the trailer. It’s a good sound but the volume can get a bit loud on long stretches. Still love my truck, though. Going to keep it as I don’t trust the 6.2 in the GMC (or the small gas tank) and while I am giddy with how the new hybrid Tundra drives, I’m going to wait and monitor the engine concerns.

On a side note, I’ve seen a ton of new GXs lately. My wife has taken notice and is asking about them. Maybe I can convince her!

LOL nah not buying a Jeep pretty much ever but it’s pretty fun short term but it’s a pain getting in and out especially for my wife. It doesn’t look that high but it is. Took it to my son’s game which was over an hour away and my wife said the bumps/vibrations were annoying and almost making her sick. She does think it’s pretty cool though.

I popped the hood and didn’t realize it was a turbo 4, I thought it was at least a 6. For what it is, it isn’t bad at all and has decent pickup and torque so I was actually impressed. Would I rather have a V8, yes but it’s the SRT392 and that pushes the price over $100k which seems insane.

It can be very dangerous to try and boot someone's car, even for professionals in parking-enforcement...particularly if the owner catches you in the act. I wouldn't have that job (or being a repo agent) for a million bucks. Many people today are armed, and they will do just about anything to prevent someone from taking their ride.

I worked in a finance company 30 years ago (after my brief stint at the rental car place) and our repo guys were unsavory types. They were the ones who were armed. They went to a place in the high desert to repo two ATVs. The owner came out and pointed a rifle at one of them. The other guy reached into the cab of the truck, grabbed his shotgun, and blew a bunch of holes in the guy’s house. Needless to say, it was an expensive lawsuit. Not sure if Shotgun Sammy faced criminal charged because we never saw those guys again.

No they can't. No state can revoke a person's right to drive a car in their state specifically. Drivers licenses issued by a US state have to be valid in all other states. A state can revoke driving privileges of one of their licensed drivers and but one state can't ban a specific person licensed by another state from driving within their borders. So quite frankly there isnt much DC can do to collect these ticket fines from out of state drivers since they have no agreement with MD or VA to transfer liability for them. All they can do is boot your car if they see it on the street, but they have very few boot crews and thats pretty unlikely.

Me? I am very unlucky so I would get booted lol. Plus, personally I just always pay what I owe. I got the ticket, I pay it.

Super nice to be driving a 430 again, still as smooth as I remember. I kinda wish it was air suspension but it's still great since it's so mint, even the telescope steering still works. The HVAC system silence is still impressive

Barely had any miles put on it since I was last here!

Depends on the exact circumstances, but, in general, If you have a valid license in Maryland (where you live) and you lose your driving privileges in, say, DC or Virginia next door, you can still legally drive in Maryland as long as your Maryland license is valid.

One thing DC can now, do, however, is go after out of state drivers drivers with unpaid tickets. As of just a few weeks ago, very recently, a new law went into effect where they can sue.

Not really. It's actually pretty simple. The left lane is for passing, NOT for speeding.

Dropped the BMW off this morning to swap out the trans fluid, coolant, and rear diff oil. She'll be ready for a tune after that.

I can relate to being unlucky. Years ago on the day after Christmas, I got cut off by a no signal Prius who needed to be in the left lane while going 55 mph in a 65 mph zone. I passed said Prius using the carpool lane and as bad luck would have it, a CHP unit was entering the freeway. That was $490. Lesson learned.
