so if i'm doing 80-85 in a 70 interstate speed limit and someone comes RIGHT UP to my bumper, i should pull over. what they're doing isn't legal on multiple fronts. so i'm not going to respond to their 'pressure' as you would call it. i will get over because i don't need to 'engage' with JERKS, but i may just slow down first which sometimes puts the pressure back on them to slow the f down and back off. but you do you and i'll do me...

I'm generally with bitkahuna on this one......always have been. If people want to drive like jerks and fly way over the limit, **** them. It is not his (or anyone else's) solemn duty to clear the lane so they can act like jerks.
However, Steve also has at least half of a point....maybe not a complete one. Policing speeders is indeed primarily a job for law enforcement, but the fact is that there are simply not enough local cops and State Troopers to do the job. Some roads, at least, have become a free-for-all.

It literally is your job to move over/out of their way.

Legally, the left lane is for passing, not speeding, If we had adequate speed-enforcement (which we don't), this would not even be an issue. That's the problem.....too many speeders.

Actually it is, it’s the law. Do you not respect the law?
You find posts and things from law enforcement agencies all over the country like I posed above from the Miami PD reminding people that riding in the left lane and refusing to move right for faster traffic is illegal. Are they wrong?

So you support enforcing speeding laws but not lane use laws? So you respect some laws and not others.
The law says that a driver in the left lane must move to the right when holding up a faster driver. The left lane is for passing, like you said. So, logically the driver in the left lane driving along not passing anyone should not be in the left lane. Is that not correct?

Tonight I walked to the Leaf game. 25
minute walk. Turn one corner and BAM! Traffic. Turn another and not as much. The huge traffic I was thinking that if I was coming into the city from 1hr out, what exactly is the point of getting all worked up? Just easier to cruise in the middle lane and get there when you get there.
Driver waits to the last second to merge.
then there is nothing. Aside from the giant lane reducers

you make it sound like i'm acting as some kind of highway cop. this is not a regular occurrence by any means (i mostly drive in the middle lane for one thing) and as i said, i do get over, but i really don't care what you say, i'm not going to be bullied to immediately respond because some JERK is RIGHT in my rear bumper.
You shouldn't be in the left lane to begin with if you're not passing anyone. So why are you breaking the law?
I don't think you realize you are a hazard on the road. Having others in the left lane have to switch lanes and pass on the right just to get around you makes it dangerous for everyone.

I don't get it. They are triggered because of speeders breaking the law but them breaking the law is all fine and dandy. Seems like a sense of entitlement.
I often cruise at 90 - 95 mph and I still stay right if I am not passing anyone and sure enough I still have others passing me at 100+ mph.
If I am in the right lane getting tailgated and see there are multiple lanes around where they can easily pass then I will let off the gas so the car slows down (not brake) to get them off me. However, if I see there is a left lane hogger and I am getting tailgated in the right lane I will speed up. Courtesy is getting rarer and all people seem to care about nowadays is themselves. If it doesn't affect me then who cares?
