It all comes down to $$$ or lack thereof. Or maybe they’re just extreme cheapskates.

Care Cut Nut put a new video yesterday about the V35 issues. He doesn't really buy into the "machining debris" excuse. I won't bother linking the vid. It's 40 mins long.
Good informative video. Tundras with an April 2024 later build date may be less problematic.

Not a design defect, but a manufacturing issue. The sky isn't falling...

So tempting.
If I ever leave Lexus, I might go with an MB SUV someday.

Isn't that what people said when it was only the 21-22s? Now we have 23s and 24s with the same problem

i'm sure that distinction is lost on people who can't drive their vehicles.
in related news, toyota/lexus can't sell the highlander/tx right now. that's gotta be a big hurt.

I don't deny that the 2GR is a good engine, it's just not particularly torquey. The FKS famously has received a lot of criticism from Tacoma owners for how much you have to rev it to feel any power, coming from their 1GR 2nd gen Tacomas with the 4.0.
The nice thing about a turbocharged engine is that the torque comes on very strong at low RPM's(The version of the B58 in my car makes peak torque from 1380-5200 RPM). Essentially you're at full torque at any given time in the powerband. It's amazing. Instant acceleration whenever you want it. There's a reason the IS350 is generally compared to the 4 Cylinder 330i rather than the 6 cylinder M340i.

Congrats, can't wait to hear your comparison reviews once you have a fair amount of seat time with it.
