General Car Conversation 2024 - part 1
I don't have any problem with people driving safely with the flow of traffic or at the 85th percentile speed of a roadway regardless of the speed limit, people who drive 150 MPH on a public road though, thats another story
Wanting to follow up on this Glaco glass coating. This stuff is no joke! Its been on my cars for about 3 months now. Both cars are washed weekly in a commercial carwash and the glass is cleaned afterwards with a strong glass cleaner, scrubbed with a microfiber scrub pad and dried with a squeegee, so hard use. The coating has held up as new. In fact its always funny at the carwash when they try and write on the windshield with the marker they use to tell the wash operator what package it gets the market beads up and disappears as soon as they draw on the glass.
Can't recommend this highly enough, no streaks or wiper chatter, compared to Rain X which lasts maybe 2 weeks under this use case and causes the wipers to smear...

I don’t go to this extreme. I usually drive 73 or so on the freeway and the limit is 65. I have seen 2 people lose it while towing and going at least 80. One was a big, heavy powerboat on a trailer and the payload tossed the tow vehicle around.
I usually drive 80 mph on the interstate which here in the south is the flow of traffic for passenger cars and trucks. On city streets I usually drive 5-10 mph over the speed limit. Which is usually how fast everyone else drives.
In the suburbs I only drive 5 mph over the speed limit or less because I do not want a ticket. I regularly have people tailing me and passing me there. But refuse to drive any faster in areas where the speed limit is strictly enforced or in residential areas.

Police I have found won't ever bother you for 5-8 over even if you're not following traffic.
Every ticket I've ever had was for at least 10 over.
It's nice to pass police and not think I have to slam on the brakes, it took a while to get used to.
