Still under warranty. Stopped by the dealer and they’re going to look at it, will report back.

Mercedes ain’t Lexus when it comes to service lol, I called and they said to come in and the guys like “everybody’s leaving in 15 minutes” well, I’m going to wind up being stranded somewhere…and the person I called said to come in…

He calls the tech “I don’t know who told him that” I’m standing right here guys…your concern for me is touching.

Battery problems are contagious apparently.

How long have you been driving with the battery light on?

Just came on now when I left my office.

They did a load test, battery is fine so they kept it and gave me a loaner. We’ll see.

You know it’s one thing when fast food restaurants pull that we’re leaving in 15 minutes stunt…. It’s another thing when a luxury car dealership selling $100k cars says that for a simple battery light…

one star review time.

Sucks about the battery issue. Of the three things Jill listed hopefully it's just the alternator.

When the battery light comes on there's a good chance you won't make it home if someone keeps driving it

Barely made it home one time and got lucky just as the car died.

Yeah really lol. When I called the guy also said they had no loaners, they had 8 lined up in the service lane.

I would have liked a little bit of customer service though. I had something similar one time happen with Lexus, and they were friendlier and more customer serviced focused. It was all kind of like "why are you here, we're going home in a little bit", well I'm here because I don't want to get stranded on the side of the road in my $130,000 car I bought from you and have paid you several thousand dollars to service since then...a little "we don't want to see you stranded on the side of the road Mr Customer, lets get you in a loaner and we will look at this tomorrow" is what they should have said.

Being in sales and customer service makes me more sensitive to those kinds of things.

MB Service is really hit and miss. Ever since my original sales consultant left I have been pretty underwhelmed, with him I was really impressed...

My guess is thats what it is, not sure what else it could be. 48k miles is pretty early for an alternator though.

This is my concern...I really don't want to be dealing with little stuff like this on a regular basis...makes me wonder if I should replace it.

Yep, exactly why I didn't want to just take it home and wind up having to have it towed to the dealer tomorrow.

Years ago, I was driving back to work from lunch in my GS300 and the stereo started distorting when I hit the turn signal. I turned the stereo off and the battery light came on. The battery load tested fine and the alternator was the problem. My Indy shop was too far to make it running on battery power, so Sears Auto Center was the nearest option.

‘It will be interesting to follow this. Good thing it’s under warranty. My guess it’s an alternator. Is this the original battery?

My guess is the alternator. No, the battery failed the load test and they replaced it 5k miles ago

Just got back from Long Boat Key, FL a couple days ago and always see really nice cars here. Bentleys seem to be the luxury car of choice, even a few with W12s and a few nice Rolls like the one below.

I also parked next to this 7 series BMW and I actually thought it looked pretty good in person even in a light color with the M-sport grille.
