That looks like some type of repair maybe after assembly.

to be fair, i'm sure there was a point where you wouldn't have seen that on a benz (and i mean a real benz) either, but current era mercedes is of course a different story

actually i just recently got a ride in an EQS AMG, with options this was something like a $175,000 msrp car and i'm thoroughly disappointed... the acceleration is impressive of course but it's also just dull feeling, and unlike a V8 or V12 AMG where the fun builds and builds as you speed up, this was already showing signs of letting up by 70 or so... also the air vent all the way to the right was one of THE cheapest feeling piece of plastic i've ever felt, for a control surface that gets used so often idk how mercedes deemed that acceptable

It’s not, I’ve seen this on the other S Classes I have looked at too.

The interior of the EQS is terrible, a big step down from the S Class.

The EQS looks cheap but it's clearly not. Everything on that car is just a big miss for me.

The interior of the EQS with the hyperscreen looks ghastly.

On other car forums and blogs I’ve heard a phrases like “old Mercedes’ were over engineered. Modern Mercedes’ are over complicated and under engineered.” lol

I haven't seen one MB EQ on the roads.

They're so hideous, nobody wants an ugly Mercedes Benz.

I see a few here in Memphis. Yes, they are in fact hideous. Looks like a computer mouse.

They don’t sell well, especially the sedans. My MB salesman said they have stopped stocking the sedans.

I think the SUV version looks better.

This is a good bunch of people IME. I have been here a while but not in a “community” sense. I got bored with that at a gun and a different Auto forum I used a lot, started looking for more commentary here recently. I’m also a mod at two other auto marque forums and get bored there with the convo outside of tech.

This place has some great people and convo. Swedespeed had/has the same kinda profile, but less “community” chat.

So I agree with @Toys4RJill - good community threads with smart people making it work.
