i've read that dealers literally had to install a more heavy duty lift just to be able to service that car and its beast of a powertrain... also since doing something like replacing an air filter or changing the battery requires dropping the entire engine/transmission lmao
Oh it's not that bad, it's lighter than most EVs are and the battery is just under the drivers seat. Many of the things that claim engine out are possible in car but I rather just have the room the VR6 has on offer
Thanks Bit lol! I don't really NEED this many cars but I like both me and the wife having a "beater" we don't care about getting rain on and a nice car per each of us.
The 03 doesn't count as it's effectively in storage/suspended usage until I have enough money to finish it.
I like both Audis too much to get rid of the 4.0, I again made the mistake of allowing her to take the 12 to Kroger yesterday sicne I had the Touareg inside it's bay for paint corrections....she got back home and first thing she said was "sell the LS460 already, I want one of these too" lol!
The stupid new VW is so nice of a car though that I'm ending up treating it like a "real" car and not a beater. I'm about 1/2 way correcting all its paint when I swore I would only just clay/wax it.
Old junk So many swirls...not that I really care on this This is the real issue, hood was faded to hell and so were the front fenders and above the windshield. FADE BE GONE! Perfecto once more. Oh yeah........CLEARLY needed on a 20 year old beater car.
(HELP, I'm putting too much effort in. It's not supposed to be a nice car)
Thats what I do as well, must be a California thing, at least it is for me.....Flex3401, 5.5'' mf pads w/ Wolfgang uber compound does wonders........
Wife got done going though all the service records to see what has been done/costs that it took to make it to now. Total was $25,639 in repairs/service....
I see why these have a bad reputation now. On the plus side it appears all the usual issues are up date and I won't be paying anywhere near what the first owner did for stuff like oil/brakes

why must it be like this with the germans :(
is this even a model with the air suspension option? it's just the standard V6 too how could it have needed so much? not that i'm doubting it's possible lol

Nope, it's a base model. It has had its struts replaced though and that was $2500 or so with VW parts at the dealer, I'm shocked how much these cost people to own actually.
My other two Germans had no history (missing on the 4.0, W12 never had anything wrong/done other than oil/brake fluid) so this is the first time I'm seeing the full terror. I know my W12 would be insane to maintain normally but I didn't think a "lowly" VW can be this bad.
