Lexus TX
550H+ seems to be a great option for alot of families including myself.
ha. maybe a bit early to write it off. i've not been a cvt fan generally, but they HAVE been improving over recent years. and i think since it's a v6 with a bigger battery than a regular hybrid, it could end up being very smooth.
QX60, MDX...
Lexus will sell a ton of these this is just more evidence that Lexus is truly not a carmaker for me anymore.
It needs SOME wood in the interior somewhere, to start...

ha... many luxury cars have no wood.
i do not find the mdx luxurious... all that shiny black plastic crap and horrible center stack.
QX60 is really surprisingly nice inside with excellent materials and feels much more expensive than it is, it truly blew me away for the money...but...much smaller inside.
What I want is a vehicle that feels nice inside, looks nice outside and has the space inside that we need and it seems that I either have to stay mainstream with a Palisade or Telluride, or spend $90,000 on a GLS or X7. Its kind of a strange gap to have to make.
yup and yup.

this TX is horrible. it looks like a 10 year old well-kept highlander. already severely aged. as much i'm not a fan of acura, the MDX is clearly a step above this TX. the headlights look straight out of a corolla and the front horizontal rectangle slats on the front grill look like a kids drawing.
the interior is straight out of a 7 year old subaru forester - not lexus like.

Agree the LC is absolute perfection. It's Lexus at their absolute best. One of my dream cars. it's hard to imagine the LC and the TX sharing the same emblem...
Between the two debuts yesterday, I don't know this TX doesn't excite me much, looks like they took the easy way out with the styling inside and out, based on the pictures I think the interior of the Acura MDX and even Infiniti QX looks better, the huge screen isn't going make me love it. Somehow this doesn't look all that Lexus like to me. I'm sure it will sell but just doesn't have the appeal of Lexus to me, which I grew up loving.
there's not a lot to hate about the toyota hybrid eCVT/transaxle power split device. it's a direct connection and has no characteristics. i suppose the only thing you could hate would be the fact that it lacks shifting sensation. objectively it gets great fuel economy and maximum power gets to the ground--which is why it's efficient.
Hmmm... I'll reserve final judgement until I can see it in real life. I have no issues with the exterior design other than that they should have differentiated it from the GH far more. The interior will really have to shine and I haven't seen enough interior photos to form an opinion on that. Lexus often leaves wood out of F Sport models, so I won't be surprised if that's the case here. From the limited pictures I am seeing, I can't tell if the pictures are of an F Sport or not.
I do like the engine/drivetrain choices. We like the V6 hybrid/CVT combo in our Highlander so that wouldn't be a deal breaker for us.
Looking forward to more reviews and details as I'm a bit unsure at this point.

A video, and a really good in-depth walk-around and tour.
One correction - this is an F Sport Performance, obviously, with the blacked-out F Sport emblem on the fender.
I like how Lexus's front ends are looking less and less similar these days. They never really had an issue with this like some German brands. I can feel the IS 500 Launch Edition owners getting more and more salty at how Incognito is becoming more ubiquitous all the time.
I find it funny he tries to open the trunk by waving his foot around awkwardly. I am pretty sure it is just a kick motion. People like to make things harder on themselves.
I feel like I can poke fun at Mike, we've met many times at meets and Lexus events.

Congratulations to Lexus for making another terrible looking front end on a Lexus vehicle!! The Grand Highlander front end definitely looks better!! The exterior design direction of Lexus vehicles lately has been a big disappointment!! This all began with the 2023 Lexus RX. On one hand, I'm happy that Lexus finally started offering a touchscreen display in all of their vehicles and left their cumbersome mousepad controller behind but as others have stated, the quality of the leather and other interior materials in their new vehicles has been substandard at best. I recently test drove a Genesis GV80 and the quality of the interior, as well as the exterior design was amazing!! If not for the subpar, gas mileage I would definitely consider purchasing a GV80 over a Lexus RX or GX. I hope that the new upcoming Genesis GV90 electric continues the same tradition of exceptional exterior design and quality interior materials because that will definitely be on my short list for my first battery electric vehicle.
