Default Low profile tires and canadian potholes

Im shopping for wheels. Barely any 18 inch options so im looking at 19’s. But that requires a 40 series tire. Anyone having issues with tire and rim damage on 19’s and above? Ppl in the US dont know how bad the potholes here get.

18s are too small I find... I’d say go 19s. I assume you have a GS? Your wheels may be thicker than the IS so you would have a better time than I would.

I'd say I have pretty bad potholes, but I have driven onto them directly and haven't had any issues as of yet. 35 Sidewall front and 30 sidewall rears on 19's.

I'm only joking about hitting the potholes directly, but riding on a 30 sidewall, you do really feel most of the road imperfections.
