Question Anyone with a pre-1995 code reader in midtown Toronto?

Hey people,

I'll try to make this as short as possible: I've been having oxygen sensor problems from the get-go. That is, ever since I bought my '92 SC400 back in October. This was characterized by bad fuel economy, with the engine and traction control off lights both staying on. Eventually, after having the code pulled by Lexus, I had both on the driver's side replaced with ones I got off of Ebay for a small fraction of Lexus's astronomical quote.

Now, two weeks later, all of a sudden the engine/TRAC lights are on again. So, either the ones I put in were bad to begin with (doubtful), one or both of the sensors on the passenger side went bad (Lexus warned me they could go soon), or it's something else entirely. The only way I'll know what's wrong is if the code is pulled.

It last took me a whole two weeks to get an appointment at Ken Shaw Lexus, so I'm not too keen on calling on them again. I know a salesman at DV North Lexus, but was told that they'll charge me ~$125+ tax just to pull the code. Totally out of the question. And my mechanic only has a reader for '95+.

So, does anyone on here live in Toronto AND have a reader which can pull the code for me?

Please post or PM. Thanks in advance!

BTW, I just made my first post before this on the regular SC300/400 board at https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ns-inside.html

Hi:
I'm experiencing the same problem and just purchased, also on E-Bay, two front O2 sensors ( ie. between the cats and the engine), after pulling code 25, which means lean air-fuel mixture.
There is a thread on Club Lexus which describes this issue in exquisite detail. Look under "02 sensor problem finally solved". Part of this thread describes how to use a paperclip to access the Daignostic port.
Or, alternately, call Malcolm Dadd in Mississauga at 905-569-7644. Malcolm is located in the Motorway Blvd. area of Mississauga, near Dundas and Erin Mills Parkway, does electronics for Lexus dealers, is an ex-SC400 owner and can run the codes for a nominal fee.
E-mail me at bill@toplineequipmet.com.
I've got 414,000 km. on my '92 and love to compare notes.

Thanks Bill... you told me about Malcolm a few months back I'll probably end up going to see him, but was hoping that someone a bit closer to me (15-20 minute radius of Yonge and Eglinton) would be able to pull the code. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
