Turning off DRL in vancouver?

Hey guys,

have any of you guys turned off your DRL in vancouver? Im thinking of getting mine done...cause once (hopefully) my LED lights come in, I'm just gonna have those on for day lights.

As a safety thing, i usually have my headlights on when its cloudy or dark out anyways, so thats not a worry for me, its just during sunny days and stuff. I dont do the automatic setting, its all manual for me :P.

so any dealerships do it here? cause i've heard its illegal...

it IS illegal
yet none of the car's I've owned, not including family's cars, have DRLs... somehow.

dealerships wont do it ... but it is very easy to do your self :) [assuming the x50s and 300s have a similar set up]

seriously DRLs don't do anything...barely enough light to do anything...i'm sure if you get rid of them cops won't even give a damn

They do help in the winter when the sun's low and the people don't turn on their damn headlights so at least with DRLs you can see 'em. Guess that's a rarity in Vancouver since we get so much rain lol.

found this on the my.is forum: http://my.is/forums/f154/how-disable...lights-328443/

so it seems there isn't an easy way to do it, but your searches may turn up otherwise. if the dealer CBEST option is the only way then local dealers aren't likely to do it for you as it is illegal. the likelihood of you getting a ticket is another story, do at your own risk. your best bet is to find a lexus/toyota tech that does work on the side and see if they can work sth out for you.

Hey guys,

thanks for the responses.

Cspec- whatchoo talking about? I got LED's coming in for my PARKING lights...hows that going to help? You didnt mention any LEDs for my highbeam/DRL.

I'm not worried about the cops, cause i'll either have my parking lights on, or my actual headlights, i just dont like the DRL ugly yellows.

I am a huge fan on turning lights on at all times when its dark...and specially when its raining, sometimes its a ***** to see people when its raining man.

but yea, i'll give my dealership a try...they wont bite.

Use Silverstars in your high beam? Even at reduced intensity they're fairly white.
