Default Yaris Transmitter Key

Friends, Friends,

I have been reduced to tears with the lost of 2007 Yaris Transmitter Key (where the door locks are built into with the key). the deals wants $250 + programming + installation for the key, totalling mega bux.

please friends, help me out here, anyone else that will sell me a Yaris Transmitter Key for less than $250?

thank you for your help in advance

Slim

ebay?

bought my spare key from there for about 80 bucks. got it cut locally at a locksmith that can cut lexus keys. then reprogrammed myself. this is for an older gs though. i believe you have to get it programmed at the dealership, but at least u save some cash. i think the dealership charges 50 bucks to reprogram.

ouch.

I only have an old remote (from our 02 Camry), not the newer fob-in-key design.

i forgot which one i bought it from on ebay. i think it was literally the first one i saw on there.

as for getting it cut, im sure the dealership outsources the key to be cut as well. it cost me roughly 30 bucks in vancouver to cut the key as im sure the key cutting machine is quite expensive. i might even bet that the dealership will probably just go to the same place, but charge you double as most dealerships do. programming, no real way around that from what i read. the older key fob keys like in my 99 gs can be programmed via the vehicle, but the new ones suppositely dont have that, and need to be done at the dealership.
