Joel's 2GS Build and restore

Hey Lexus fam, I'm going to be restoring and modding out my 2001 Lexus GS-430. I inherited the car from my dad after my sister "totaled" it from running a stop sign. There's a lot of passenger rear panel damage that I am currently fixing. I plan on getting the body looking gorgeous, and then performance upgrades and a manual tranny swap are my next targets. Hopefully, I can learn some valuable information along the way and entertain anyone who is interested in keeping up with my project.
I've been wanting to restore the exterior for years and now I'm finally doing it. It's an exciting but slow process. Pictures/videos to come:

Looks like a fun project..

Do you plan to handle all the stages of the body work yourself, Including paint? That would be a very expensive car to fix up unless you are really good with this sort of work. Curios if the car was given a salvage title and the mileage on it. Hope it's worth the effort.. Have you checked the alignment for bent or damaged suspension components in the rear yet? If it's still driveable you might want to have that looked at for possible frame damage. It's worth making sure before putting all this work into it and then finding out the alignment might always be an issue. Just something to think about.
