Do you know when they are going to release the tune to the public and is the transmission tune part of the package? Thx His tuning is not a full-time job and it takes him a lot of time outside of his main employment. Rest assured, he's doing a lot of quality work with his experience. |
I thought you owned Sector7 Tuning and/or were affiliated with them?
|
Very cool - you should consider getting Dragy to track the improvement in performance, if you add other mods down the road.
|
I'm not the owner of Sector 7, just the first ISF he's been thoroughly working with.
As for Dragy, I just downloaded it on my phone. Hopefully it works quick, I've never had luck with anything GPS related. |

Long time no see for you all that aren't connected with me on FB or IG.
I tried to update the main post but apparently I didn't upload the correct video last year. Here's a backup link. Also, 1/4 mile times! First time taking the ISF to the drag strip and I'm a bit pleased with the conditions. ~3600ft DA, the car has 198k on it, stock tune, and I have just a Borla catback. I've got my spare rear wheels on with Pirelli P Zeros and my HKS coilovers were left at max stiff for the damper adjustment (I honestly haven't touched it since install.... over 75k miles ago). RT, 60ft, 1/4 ET, 1/4 MPH .56 2.19 13.63 @ 106.26 (28psi tire) WOT on green .36 2.15 13.52 @ 106.79 (20psi tire) WOT on third yellow -.02 2.13 13.39 @ 107.30 brake launched on third yellow (RED LT) .40 2.12 13.46 @ 107.09 brake launched, did 3rd gear burnouts .10 2.16 13.27 @ 108.80 2hrs later, PR!!! .32 2.10 13.30 @ 108.10 last one, best 60ft, beat a Mustang because he slept at a .5rt lol Here's a vid of my best run at 13.2 @ 108.8mph. After the 4th run, I called it a night at like 11:40PM. Hung out and chatted with some friends. Around 1:20AM, I figured I may as well get some runs in when the traffic is LOW. Temps have had dropped from mid 80s to ~76°F at this point and my IATs were low-ish. Tires weren't warm but I was moving down the strip! Not bad for an old car with 198k miles on the clock! I'll have to scan my timeslips later. Videos are in order. If things are looking well this week, I might go autocrossing with the ISF! It's the only vehicle I own that I haven't autocrossed yet. It should give the HKS Hipermax IV GTs some good exercise, not that it hasn't gotten its fair share of driving and racing around mountains when I was living in California. |

Finally took the ISF to an autocross event! I guess I could say it's the first time I've autoX'd since 2016 in the Supra, also.
Despite having to wrestle the car's weight and the stiff sidewall'd Run Flat rear tires on the car, I was still able to squeeze a 62.113 second run. My friend's Civic Type R with Michelin PS4S on all four corners managed to crush a 58s lap. The surface was messy out there but I managed to have some fun and get seat time. If I had another pair of PS4S to match the front, I think I would've gotten a lot more control and stability over the Pirelli P Zero run flats. The car wanted to rotate too easily, on and off throttle. This made it difficult to keep consistent lines and a high average speed. The fastest time of day was ~53s by a Miata. Run 1 |
Why did you return to the stock tune?
|
There's zero support from Sector 7.
My car seemed to be happy with it (low levels of knock at high-rpm, KCLVs were good, torque limiter was removed) but after having Tuned by Loi look over two cars that were previously tuned by Sector 7, he found that both cars were running too lean. Rather than chance it, I figured the safest option for now is to just go back to stock. |
I don’t think these cars like tuned long term, nor do I think they make more power long term. I’ve seen way too much evidence to the contrary. I’ve had great fortune with the PPE O2 extensions and the oem tune.

good looking and sounding car !
