Wide Body GS430 from Russia

Hello! My name is Klim, I'm from Moscow. I decided to present you a little story about my car.
Initially it was a Lexus GS450h. But due to the unreliability of the engine, I decided to start a swap. For this, I bought a swap kit from Japan, from Lexus GS430.
The whole swap took about six months, for this I replaced all the wiring and almost all control units.

My first years of ownership:

Three years later, I started to swap:

Do not ask why 3UZ. I just consider it the most reliable engine in Toyota. And maybe someday I'll put a supercharger on him)

after SWAP, I had already driven more than 30,000 km, and the engine never let me down. During this time I upgraded a lot of things in the car.

Enine and trans:
- full swap kit from JDM Lexus GS430 to GS450h (yes, i'm crazy)\
- exhaust system full custom, two parallel tracks 63mm, without resonators and without X-pipe.

Brakes:
- full kit from Lexus LS600h
front: 358 mm, 4 pod
rear: 355 mm, 2 pod

Suspension:
- full-tap coilovers
- all rubber in suspension is replaced by polyurethane

Interior:
- steering wheels from Lexus IS f-sport
- the seats are replaced by a rare Japanese brown leather interior, including inserts in the doors

and a lot of things else, I don’t remember everything

And now I will talk about the most important thing. In the summer of 2018, I met the guys from the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, which are known as Monsterservice (instargam). I saw their cool IS300, and I really liked the quality of work and how every detail of the body kit was worked out.

We decided that closer to Christmas I would send my car from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk (4000km) so that they would work on it)))

Now the guys are engaged only in the design of the wide-body kit. But soon there will be a ducktail order for Lexus GS

Nice work! But how was the GS450h unreliable for you? Hybrid battery failures or inverter failure?
And I would think it is easier to buy a GS430.
I noticed in eastern Russia almost all cars are second hand Japanese cars with RHD, must be able to obtain a Lexus GS430 for reasonable prices (but yes RHD)

Thanx! I do not know, but in Russia the engine (2GR, 3GR) itself causes a lot of problems with the fifth cylinder, teasers, burned-out valves, etc.

very few good GS430 sold. It was easier to buy a swap kit. Yes, there are a lot of RHD cars in the Far East, but the GS430 cannot be legalized, only for parts. Since he is more than 5 years old

What's the general consensus on the reasons for the 5th cylinder failure? From what I've gathered so far (using google translate mostly), it's the 5th cylinder having the shortest path through the intake surge box (well, manifold) and picking up all the debris, plus people mentioning cracked air boxes. The other thing is the coolant flow around the 5th cylinder.

I think the construction of Exhaust Gas Recirculation is to blame. the engine does not have a good oil catch and all the carbon goes to the valve. Formation of plaque, which due to falls into the cylinder and makes teasers. The first thing to do with these engines is an oil catcher.
Sorry for my english))))

quality motor repair (2GR) costs ~ $ 2,500. A swap kit cost me $ 1,500 and I sold a lot of old parts for $ 2,000 +. I did all the swap work myself. In my case, the swap was more profitable! Yes, and I love V8))

so its your car Monstersevice is working with! good job it seems like you've made some good progress. I've been patiently waiting for them to finalize the kit for the GS. Keep up the good work.

There's no separate EGR on GR-equipped RWD cars (not counting the EGR effect of valve overlap, but this is on pretty much all cars), so I guess you're talking about the PCV? It just so happens to be next to the 5th cylinder. An oil catch can is a great idea regardless :)

Yes, and I love V8
...and a bulletproof v8 at that :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Waiting for the bodykit pics ;)
