93 SC400 Abandoned to Beautiful
So I got myself a 1993 SC400 a few months ago. 57,525 on the clock I've been dailying it so now it's got 60,600.
When I got it, it had been sitting for about 3 years when I got it. I had to replace the fuel pump, fuel pump ECU, ECU, fuel filter, drain the OLDDD gas sitting in the tank.
Starting picking up new leather trim panels etc.
The big project was the clearcoat peeling all over the car. I wasn't sure exactly how I wanted to tackle this and I really want the paint to look good on the car.
I decided to paint it in my driveway with colormatched spraycans. figured, $100 and a few days worth of sanding and polishing how bad could it be?
Wellll you guys can decide how bad it went.

I think it looks pretty killer all things considered! Very cool that you've brought it back to life and are enjoying it. I often times find myself missing my sc4 with that beautiful noise that would come out of the back end.

Once I start doing the interior upholstery I'll do the before and after shots. but heres some radio/wiring pr0n for you guys. Stock headunit not having carplay was driving me bonkers
Also, ignore the dog hair I haven't vacuumed the car in a couple weeks. Once I start the interior he won't be allowed in it anymore

Also, I'll be fabricating something for the ashtray so I can mount my Laser/Radar defense controller there akin to this one
Look up a 2018 911 ashtray to see what it looked like before.

Indeed you did! I think when you saw it I hadn't even sanded it yet and the clearcoat was still peeling.
And thanks! The complements mean a lot coming from someone with such a sweet soarer!
