Steve's Blue RC F build tread
 

Hello CL. My name is Steve. I bought this car last year and wanted to build this car to my taste.

This is daily driver for me so just wanted clean street look. So far I am almost done with cosmetic.

Maybe later, I am thinking about headers or super charger but for DD, just borla catback is enough for now~

I love Lexus and from 2008, IS 350 to LS 460 to GS 350 to RC F. My wife only gets Lexus too which is RX 350 to newer RX 350 lol.

I wanted make a build thread and share it with you guys as I was getting parts but got busy at work and got busy with baby so I couldn't find time to do this.

on the same day or day after to pick up parts. His price is the best and he is very quick at responding. Contact him up if you guys need parts.

My goal is to lower the car, get some wheels, get lip kits, exhaust, and more engine mode later.

- Suspension: Swift springs for now but maybe coilover and other suspension parts later
- Tom's full CF lip kit. I always loved Tom's lip kit so I am set on getting Tom's lip kits.
- Wheels: I wanted to get volks or work wheels but decided to get some 20" SSR wheels.
- Exhaust: I really like borla catback. For that price, I think it's best sounding exhaust..

Got my car. I had many white, grey cars but I've seen Blue mica on the road and I was set on blue after that.
I found it so I got myself a early Christmas present.

After I bought a car, I also bought Borla catback from Meraki autoworks. He was local to me so I picked it up after I bought a car.

I took a time off work and went to install Borla catback exhaust. I heard it so many times on youtube so I decided to get it right away.
Man I love this exhaust. It can be so quiet during cruising on freeway or even local but it really wakes up when you floor it.

Ordered 20" SSR wheels. Ordered CV01 executor wheels SBC color.
I wanted 3 piece wheels with some slight concave.

I couldn't stand the wheel gap so I decided to get swift springs. When shop was installing springs, I told them to paint my caliper yellow.
Somehow I like yellow on Blue car.

Dropped the car off at the retailer so they can buff it and put ceramic coating on my car. It's so easy to clean my car now!
It always shines and ceramic coating was definitely worth a money and time.

Dropped off the car to get front L logo tinted, gloss black wrap on roof and window chrome trim.

Took off all the badges off. Took RC badge, L badge, 3 F badges. Wanted painted it smoke clear so it wont be just too black.
I wanted to have black chrome look on badges.

Picked up Carbon fiber Tom's rear lip diffuser and rear spats. Also picked Tom's start button. Wrapped red reflector to gloss black.
It looked weird with red reflector so I just wrapped it with gloss black vinyl.

My borla exhaust tip went in too much after installing Tom's diffuser. I have to buy tips and extend it out.

Decided to buy some blue tips and weld it on borla exhaust. It kinda stuck out too far out so I'll have to go to shop again to adjust it again.

Got Apexi smart throttle controller. Only used red mode and it really makes difference. Install was really easy and quick.

Ordered tires for my new wheels. Wheels are not here yet but wanted to have tires ready.

Got Michelin pilot sport 4S 255/30/20 for the front and 285/30/20 for the rear. I read lot of good reviews on this tire.

Wanted to get some wider tires but 255 and 285 combo is almost max spec for the wheels that I ordered (offset +25).

My current MPSS tires are great so I wanted to stick with Michelin again. Got tires but no wheels yet.

Got some slanted tips and finally re-weld the muffler tips so it won't stick out too much.

Finally picked up wheels. Waited almost 5 months for this. JDM wheels = long wait but worth it.

Wheel specs: 20 x 9 + 24 Hyper disk, 20 x 10.5 +25 Normal disk with SBC coat.

Finally installed the wheels on my car. SBC color is really cool. Looks dark at night and shines alot when sun hits. Love this color.

Man I'm so jealous at how good it looks! I'd get a Toms kit also if it didn't cost an arm and a leg for the CF pieces :p

SSRs look amazing though - I'll be going with SP3s myself :thumbup:

Steve, do you mind sharing your tire specs?

haha thank you. I love Tom's kit but yea it is expensive tho!

I was actually wanted sp3 but cv01 had very similar design with 3piece and slight concave. SP3 will look nice!!!
