Talking Buying new 2018 IS350 F-sport

All, I am new to this club and I am thinking of getting a new 2018 IS350 F-Sport Ultra White/Red. Any suggestions Pros/Cons before I am buying it. I am thinking of getting the front paint protected with clear bra. Should I get the paint protection film from dealer or private shop? What about GAP insurance? Anything to help me going into this would be helpful. Thanks.

I got exact same car last week (RWD model). I didn't get any PPF or opti-coat type of paint protections and not planning to. But I think these are to each their own and to whatever their budget and priority can cover.

Some people mentioned that Ultra White is too white that it hides some of the lines of the car in the daytime. I personally didn't feel that way and really love the white/red combo. I've always had black/black car in my life, so coming into white exterior shocks my friends but that's how good they look. There are other color options that are equally gorgeous, so I'd recommend you see them in person if your dealer has them available.

One of the major complaint that I have is that blind spot monitoring light. It's at the outer corner of the side mirror and does not stand out enough to notice it unless your eyes re-focus to the spot of the mirror. If I were to do it repeatedly on a long drive, it will definitely strain my eyes looking thru the mirror and on the mirror. I wish the indicator was on the side of mirror like audi or inside the windows even.

My next complain is that subwoofer control is missing from ML audio. I really hate systems that syncs the bass level of speakers along with free air flow subs. Even my previous 2006 Acura TL had separate control in the console.

And then there are few minor places where I feel like they should have improved on their 5th year of 3IS. But those are just minors and people usually can live without noticing or being bothered.

Having said above, I do love my car.

dealer will always charge more. finance dept. needs to make $$ so they try and sell accessories, ppf, gap insurance. you can get the ppf elsewhere cheaper and better fit laser cut if you find a specialty shop. whereas buying ppf from the dealer, both parties are making $$ off you, the installer and the dealer.

Most dealers don't even do the actual install of the clear bra... they contract out to a local shop and up-charge you. I actually have the exact same car, but a 2017... and I've been toying with the idea of selling it lol
