My '18 F-Sport RWD (Smokey Granite/Rioja) TIE Fighter

Hi All,

Just wanted to pop in and say that I'm very exited to have finally joined the 4GS club! While I have previously leased a '13 ES350 and '15 IS250, I had always wanted a GS since falling in love with the 1998 GS400.

For me, this is as close as I'll get without going for the GS-F. Can you tell I'm a Star Wars fan?

Mods: (big shout out to Josh @ Meraki Autoworks for the mods - great service!)
Takeda Intake
Tanabe Tower Strut Bar
Tanabe Medallion Exhaust
3M Crystalline 40%

As a side note, I did manage to find a Tanabe Underbrace (TUB170F), however, it appears that the '18 4GS has a plate over the oil pan which bars (no pun intended) installation. That is, unless of course you opt to remove it, which I did not. So, it looks like I've got an expensive towel rack for my garage now =/

This looks so damn good, loving that color...My cars younger brother/sister by 5 years. What do you have planned next for it?

DJFrakis 04-30-18 01:45 PM

Thanks guys, the love is definitely appreciated!

I think next up on the list will be the illuminated door sills, though I'll need to psych myself up to pulling off the dash and messing with the wiring.

Beyond that, I think I'll work on the suspension, most probably next year. I'd probably just do the Tanabe springs, though between here and there if I get crazy maybe I'll do the RS-R AVS Besti coilovers. I know either of those options will trigger needing to get the RR Racing USRS and SPC Camber Link, so I'll need to take my time in deciding.

Where did you find the underbrace TUB170F? I was looking around and had no luck.

DJFrakis 05-01-18 02:59 PM

I got lucky and found it on e-bay. It was brand new, in the Tanabe box and everything. Now it's just sitting at my house unused because of this plate:

I wouldn't take off the plate if I were you. The under brace is supposed to be a simple bolt on without taking off factory parts.

I guess I should spend more time on eBay lol.

Yeah definitely... I told my mechanic is was just pulling out 2 bolts =/ Imagine my surprise when I get a picture of a plate. The plate is definitely staying on.

Congrats man, after looking at your car color combo, it’s really make me want to get this color instead of Atomic silver which was my first choice

Thanks! My first choice was Obsidian or Caviar and the Rioja. I was iffy on if the SGM would even look good with the Rioja, but then the dealer sent me a pic and I was sold. It looked even better in person in the showroom!

I think the darker shade of gray plays better with the black/red than the lighter silver, IMHO.
