I have wanted one since they came to the states....it's been a dream of mine to have a Godzilla of my own.

Since you have already come so far with your 2JZ turbo engine build you could still find a good home for it in another interesting chassis when you're ready. There are so many options.

When you've locked in your GTR I hope you'll give us a peek here in your thread!

By the way, I think I've seen you on the MKV forums. You've no interest in the MKV in a year?
I am considering another SC300 or IS300. The SC's are popping up, but in pretty rough shape. The IS's are in better shape, but people are asking a bit too much for them for what they are. All my attention right now though, is tracking down a nice condition GTR. I know alllllll about these cars. A few of my buddies have them, and all have said "get a 2013 and up...you will thank us later." I am very active on the MKV forums, however, I am not too sure what Toyota will do with the MKV Supra. Most folks agree with me, but to each his own. For me, if it doesn't say "Made In Japan" I don't want it.

I have given up on MKIV's man....they have become so difficult to acquire and maintain (new parts, used parts, etc..) that I will probably never find the perfect Supra that I want. For the money people are asking for the 6spd's, it is absolutely ludicrous. Why??? Just go out and get a much better, newer, faster car. If appreciation is what one is after, get an old Ferrari. I am pretty dead set on the GTR.

The things people are doing with the R35's nowadays is unreal. Really happy with the aftermarket for the GTR.

Thanks! It is a good thing I didn't start bashing in firewalls and panels on the Z....the guy who bought from me is a Z collector and was amazed at how clean and well preserved the car was. I honestly didn't feel right about changing anything on the 300ZX, it really was a clean example.

So, I just purchased a 2019 STI (Crystal White Pearl) last week, and took delivery of the car yesterday (dealer swap). This will be my first Subaru, and keeping fingers crossed everything stays kosher with the car (reliability, etc...). Very happy with the purchase and dealership process. Apparently, the 2019 and 2020 STI's get the Type RA motors (stronger internals) so I am pretty excited about that. I needed a new daily as my 4Runner has become a gas guzzler and no up-to-date creature comforts. This purchase does not affect my goal of getting my dream car... ;-)

LOVE the current gen STI's. So nice! And the info about the 2019-2020 STI engines being Type RA spec is really good. They designed that RA EJ25 variant for endurance track use if I recall the official press release correctly.

One heck of a great DD!

Yeah, there are a few good articles that go into the details of the updates for 2019-2020. One of the biggest complaints about the older STI's EJ25 motor in the past has been the piston strength at anything over 400WHP. With the new pistons, rods, and valves, I am curious how much the stock engine can be boosted before needing some reinforced parts.

Here is some info about the differences between the older STI's and RA internals I found online....pretty excited about this:

^^ Both RA pistons and rods look improved a bit. Probably still not the same as aftermarket lightweight forged rods and pistons but any strength improvement is welcome improvement. As old as the EJ engine is I love seeing Subaru make it more stout in factory trim. Do the USDM STI EJ257's now all come with dual AVCS or is that just a feature of the JDM EJ207 STI engine?

I believe all USDM 2008+ STI’s have dual AVCS, and only certain JDM cars with “W” heads have it. Not 100% on that though.
